SL on a HP 530 Notebook

Hi guys. I have an old HP 530 notebook laying around and I thought I would install osx on it. Now, I've read that this notebook's gpu (intel gma 945/950) is supported up to Snow Leopard (or am I wrong?), that's why I'm posting here. The specs are: Intel T2050 Centrino Duo CPU 1,60 Ghz 3 GB RAM 160 GB HDD Intel GMA945/950 (I'm not sure why it says 945/950, in device manager it shows 945 Express Chipset Family) Conexant High Definition Audio Intel Pro/100 VE Network (wired) Intel Pro/ Wireless 3945ABG Network (wireless) I've read the compatibility list here, but the specs seem to be a little different (Celeron, Broadcom wireless, etc.), so I need some help installing something that will work on this notebook. Also, I installed Maveriks and Yosemite countless times on my desktop and others, but I am a little clueless about older versions. So if someone could share a guide or some info, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you! P.S. I don't have access to a DVD writer or a Mac, so I need a way to make a USB stick with OSX on Windows.

MAC OS X Yosemite Beta 1,2,3 Hackintosh Guide

OK, I'm in 10.10 now, thank God. I tried my luck with FakeSMC, copied it via terminal from the USB stick to the HDD in the Yosemite setup. After that, no more bluetooth {censored} and the system booted fine. What now? I installed some kexts for the network, but i didn't reboot yet, because I want to install a bootloader. Should I install the same Chameleon version as the one in the guide above? Or go with something else? P.S. Can't get ethernet working. I have 2 cards, one on-board Realtek RTL8139/810x and one Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114. I can't find kexts for these anywhere. So I really can't do much in 10.10 right now... Fixed with the All in one networking solution package. Also, no audio - it's on-board audio, Via VT1708B. Works with latest VoodooHDA Dual monitor also works with PCIRootUID=1. Only one thing to sort out: that damn error when I try to login to the Store (your computer could not be verified). Because of this I can't login to iMessage either, I think...

MAC OS X Yosemite Beta 1,2,3 Hackintosh Guide

I tried again, following all the steps, including that line about the kernel path. I got to the setup in like 15 seconds, and the installation went fine. But, as the previous time, I'm stuck at that damn "missing bluetooth transport...." line, no matter what flags I use. I did that thing in single user, moving those kexts, but it didn't help. I really don't get this error. With Mavericks, I needed only "USBBusFix=Yes" to boot, but this damn beta doesn't want to work. I'm also a bit confused as to what I'm supposed to do AFTER the installation. What I did was to boot from the same USB stick, and from the Chameleon list I choose the HDD where I installed 10.10 (and adding flags, of course). I assumed that once I could get in the OS, I would install Chameleon on the HDD, so I won't need the stick, right? Another thing: I've read somewhere that this error has something to do with FakeSMC. I added that kext (and the others) on the USB stick like the guide stated, but how do I copy it to the Yosemite HDD (if it must be there)? I did that, it's in the guide. Is this correct?: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MP31.88Z.006C.B05.0802291410</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F42C88C8</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacPro</string> <key>SMmanufacter</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro3,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>CK928549XYL</string> </dict> </plist>

Didn't work for me... I managed to get to the setup, I installed the OS, but I can't get it to boot, no matter what I try...I always get stuck at some line about Bluetooth-something missing... At one point it got past that after 5 minutes or so and I was "presented" with a grey screen and a mouse cursor that I could move. And that's about it. Since then, I couldn't even get to that, only to that damn Bluetooth thing. And yes, I tried that solution with removing the AppleIntelHD* and AppleIntelF* kexts in single user mode, it's no use...

I'm sorry, you were replying to my post?

    OS X Yosemite DP's builds!

I was following this guide to install the GM on my PC and here's my feedback: - if I boot via the USB stick without any flags, there's a line of text (something about 10.10 kernels.....) and it goes back to the OS selection in about 2 seconds (I had 2, Mavericks on one HDD and the USB stick); - I managed to get to the setup only using -v -f and USBBusFix=Yes (this one is killing me, I had to use it on Mavericks too), if I skip the -f it doesn't work, no mather what flag I add, it gets stuck at some points; - the installation went fine, no issues. After the reboot, I booted into the OS via the USB stick and choose the HDD where I installed the GM, also adding -v -f and USBBusFix=Yes; - the booting process seemed stuck at a line about some Bluetooth thing missing, but after a while (about 5 minutes), it "booted", meaning I got the grey screen (where the login, or the setup wizard should have started) and the mouse cursor. That's where it died. It wasn't frozen, I could move the mouse, but nothing happened after. What do I do from here?

Memory problems - Spinning ball of death

If no one is replying, that doesn't mean they are ignoring you... Anyway, I have a similar issue, I think. At boot (not always, it's quite random), I get a lot of HDD activity when the login screen shows up. The mouse cursor moves VERY slow. This goes on for a few minutes and that's it, everything is fine after that.

    A few post-install questions

You got it wrong, Niresh worked on my DESKTOP, not laptop. Apparently, nothing works on that laptop...

    A few post-install questions

Bad news, I'm afraid... 1. The laptop hates OSX, no SL boots on this one, not the retail image and not any other distro that I tried. There's a blinking cursor that blinks for ever (also the led on the USB stick blinks continuously) and that's it, no matter what I change in the BIOS. 2. I couldn't get to the setup with the retail image of Mavericks on my desktop. With Niresh, I was ablet to "fix" it with "USBBusFix=Yes", but it seems it doesn't work with retail. I tried various flags, with no luck...

    A few post-install questions

Thank you! I'm on my way to building a SL USB stick and I'll see if I have more luck with this on the notebook. On a side note, I really want to thank all of you who tried to help me, I tried to get some support on other forums, even on the Niresh forum, and all I got was 0 replies. I guess it's hard for some people to hit a reply button and type a few words to help someone who's not such an experienced person as they are. You guys are amazing, thank you again!

    A few post-install questions

May be so, but this is useless for me, since I can't even get the damn thing to boot to the installation Maybe I'll try a SL image, do you have any recommendations?

    A few post-install questions

I'm trying both, but right now I'm having this laptop here at work, my desktop is at home and I'll work on it tonight.

    A few post-install questions

Well, it doesn't work. The notebook is "stuck" in a reboot loop, and I don't even know where or how to add some boot flags, the cursor just flashes for a second and the notebook reboots again, no error message, no nothing. Strange...

    A few post-install questions

I used this method: http://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3736 Here they are. Mine has 2GB or RAM, not 1.

    A few post-install questions

I made the USB stick and it's ready, I'll try to install Mavericks later today and report back. Since there's no point in opening a new thread about this, I'll ask here: do you think this retail image (or any distro, for that matter) will work on a HP 530 notebook? I did try to use the USB stick with Niresh, but I can't get past the bootloader list (hitting Enter on the Mavericks entry just returns me to the list almost instantly, no matter what flags I try). I think I've seen some message about a magic number (it's very fast, I can't see the full message...).
