What's new in this version:

* Several bugs in the DivX Player related to incompatibilities with various third party software applications have been fixed. Other fixes have also contributed to the overall stability and usability of the DivX Player.

* The playback engine of the DivX Player has been fine-tuned, resulting in improved playback.

* The DivX Web Player now boasts increased stability and improved playback performance.

* A new 'Sharpening' post-processing feature is available for Intel Macs.

* Creating DivX videos with either the DivX Converter or DivX Codec is now up to 3.5 times faster on Intel Macs.

* The DivX Player now has a Dock Menu providing convenient access to commonly used features.

* The DivX Web Player now supports playback of multiple audio tracks.

* The ability to detect corrupt videos has been added to the DivX Player and DivX Converter, preventing applications in most cases from freezing when trying to open corrupt videos.

My thoughts:

The player and converter is still PCC. However, there is a new prefpain feature for Intel added to this one that allows you to register and control the update feature. More importantly, the prefpain also has a decoder setting to "deblock and sharpen" playback. I tried this feature and I really can see the difference, especially with Ice Age 2. Try it out!

Thanks DivX Mac Team!

Hi,

thanks for the link. :blink:

I must have been wrong somewhere, because after install it won't show avi in QT

anymore, just sound and a white screen. :P

//Edit:

I just found out. It plays QT Avis just fine, it is only the preview in the finder that does not work atm, maybe I

have to restart. If you have any probs check out this link, too: http://www.3ivx.com/download/macos.html
