subvice
Running 10.6 SL was wondering if by setting the ram speed past 1066 is bad? When I set my ram to 1600 mghz it reads in the apple system profile as 0. Let me know. Cheers, Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208298-ddr3-ram-support-for-1600mghz/ Share on other sites

atlee
use a bootloader like Cham RC3 to fix your ram speed, if you have 1600Mhz memory the bootloader will fix it to the correct speed. iLeopod
with a SMBIOS.plist in /Extra you can set manually your ram type and speed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208298-ddr3-ram-support-for-1600mghz/#findComment-1399553 Share on other sites
Griffwill
with a SMBIOS.plist in /Extra you can set manually your ram type and speed. thanks for this fix, it was bothering me that OSX was underclocking my RAM. I have another RAM issue though. in "About This Mac" and iStat, I show only 2 GB of RAM but in System Profiler, I'm reading 4 (which is correct) the question is if I'm using all 4 GB that System Profiler is reading, or only 2? not really sure how to check...
