  1. Found the original pinout of your backplate: seems just two firewire 400 with pin 5 or 6 as shield GND

    @BonBon6 I extract as uncompressed and try to reinsert as compressed and get this error: OsmozisDefault: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Version</key> <string>1.0</string> </dict> </plist>

    I get an error when trying to insert Core_DXE compressed into the ROM. I saw someone at projectosx had the same problem. Is it solved or is this only possible on newer Bios. Gigabyte z68 Uefi beta Bios : https://www.dropbox.com/s/hhh1abfzyjsp0xi/Z8MXUD2H.rom
  5. AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement is loaded but: WARNING: IOPlatformPluginUtil : getCPUIDInfo: this is an unknown CPU model 0x3a -- power management may be incomplete or unsupported
  6. The Disabler.kext in bios blocks IntelCpuPowerManagement. The question is on purpose?

  8. A discrete GPU will require hardware changes or a special software like on windows. But im sure hot plug will work when injecting the stuff what real macs have in their dsdt and device-properties
  9. Just look how tunderbolt works on real macs.
  10. Sad to hear that you're out again. The problem is that most people think a hackintosh is a cheap mac. We all know we could be much further when we would working more together. Best example is thunderbolt only some lines of DSDT code, i found no guide yet, but these people are happy with their Voldemort branded mac.
  11. I was wondering how this osx86 stuff will be deployed. Funny to see the XyZ identifier inside the legacy package.
  12. There is a comment on that post that the backplate is optional.(not confirmed yet)
  13. this is no modding thread ... There is a Public kickstarter update with unboxing video. Looks like the FW800 backplate is not included :-(
  14. Video Decode Acceleration is not working for me an many others with Nvidia GPUS. I wonder if its possible to get it working with some binpatching. Things I noticed so far: AppleVAFramework request an higher/other GPU Power stateAVF error: AVAHDGPURendererVP2VP3BoostVP3: AGPMSetBoost code = 0 returned 0xe00002c2 (ig) this error can be hidden by using MacPro 3,1 SMBIOS (completley disables AGPM/VDA)or adding BoostPState to AGPM info.plistbut this is causing safri to crash often when using VDADecodeCheck AVF info: Successfully connected to the Intel plugin, offline Gen6 intel quick sync enables AirPlay Mirroring but VDA is not possible together with a dedicated GPU for me (with HD4000 this is may different) when disabling iGPU in bios and using iMac12,2 SMBIOS and unloading all INTELHD kexts and efi/dsdt infoAVF info: Successfully connected to the Intel plugin, offline Gen6 is still present. The question is what enables VDA: device-id, subsystem-id, GPU name, Architectureand can we patch it like OpenCL?

    Video Decode Acceleration on Fermi/... GPUs ?

    My Atom Netbook with ION aka 9400m is fully supported too. But the 9800gt was not working for me(broken so cannot test again).

    Video Decode Acceleration on Fermi/... GPUs ?

    @ Stefe Hobs how? @ theconnactic it looks for me that the intel ivy dose the decoding. With intel sandy bridge i have the problem that it will only enable air play mirroring. But at the other hand slow down the system performance.

    Video Decode Acceleration on Fermi/... GPUs ?

    I've searched for nvidia vendor-ids in files used (ActivityMonitor) by quick time related to VDA: assuming byte-flipped 10de --> de10 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleGVA.framework/Versions/A/AppleGVA FFCBDE10F381 FAF4DE10F00C 33DDDE10E4DF 0F0000DE100000 8118DE1081E2 /System/Library/Extensions/GeForceVADriver.bundle/Contents/MacOS/GeForceVADriver C0E2DE10E907 /System/Library/Frameworks/VideoDecodeAcceleration.framework/Versions/A/VideoDecodeAcceleration none

    Hdmi is bugged on 9800gt since 10.6.3. Use DVI if possible.

    Video Decode Acceleration on Fermi/... GPUs ?

    interesting ... no sure if it was also working with 10.7.4 for me. The file we should look at are: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/AppleVA.framework/Versions/A/AppleVA /System/Library/Extensions/GeForceVADriver.bundle/Contents/MacOS/GeForceVADriver i had a look with otool but no idea where to start. So skilled Devs in Reverse Engineering are welcome.
  20. What do you expect to achieve by that? To show up your card under PCI devices in system profiler u just need this: "AAPL,slot-name", Buffer (0x09) { "Built-In" }, "built-in", Buffer (One) { 0x01 }, "device_type", Buffer (0x09) { "ethernet" }, "model", Buffer (0x22) { "Realtek RTL8111E 10/100/1000 Mbit" }
  21. Is it inside PEX5? Do u have the DTGP method. Leave the Buffer empty and let the compiler do the calculation. Buffer (0x00) is at least wrong.
  22. I added <key>BoostPState</key> <array> <integer>0</integer> <integer>1</integer> <integer>2</integer> <integer>3</integer> </array> <key>BoostTime</key> <array> <integer>3</integer> <integer>3</integer> <integer>3</integer> <integer>3</integer> </array> to remove this error: AVF error: AVAHDGPURendererVP2VP3BoostVP3: AGPMSetBoost code = 0 returned 0xe00002c2 (ig) Sure this won't enable VDA but one error less in log.
