Core i5 750 single core working?!?!?!

Basically got everything working after spending the whole day on it.

I can only get osx to boot if i use the flag cpus=1

I would really like to use all 4 cores, as i just bought this cpu and what good is a toy if you can use it completely?

I used the iATKOS v7 distro updated to 10.5.8

 

if anyone can help me to get all cores working i would appreciate it!

May need a DSDT patch. I presume you're using the Voodoo kernel? If not try that maybe.

using voodoo kernel 9.7 Is there something with a p55 board that does not allow it to work? ive picked up an asus dsdt specifically for my board and still nothing. Would upgrading to snow leopard help my situation at all?

I have the same problem. I installed iPC 10.5.2 successfully (after many problems). The Processor is Intel® Core2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz. I will be appreciated if there is a solution.

Figured it out. I used iatkos v7 distro originally and had no luck

 

Found a guide to install Snow Leopard thru retail disk.

 

It detects my RAM at correct clock and my i5 750 with 4 cores.

 

So update to snow leopard and youll be good to go

Check out tonymac's p55 guides and blog. I used his method and have all four cores working as well as sound, ethernet, and everything else.

EDIT:

 

I got a Core i5 430m Working on all cores using the qoopz 10.3.0 Kernel. And the "Busratio=XX" and "-force64" Kernel flags.
