CUDA-Z Info+Bench (Nvidia only) - updated Dec 2015
Lord_Jeremy replied to mitch_de's topic in New Releases and Updates
When I run nbody I get the following: dyld: Library not loaded: @rpath/libcudart.dylib Referenced from: /Users/lord_jeremy/Applications/./nbody Reason: image not found I've got the nVidia CUDA package 4.1.25 installed and CUDA-Z shows benchmark info so I presume it's functioning correctly. Any thoughts? -
Well this problem has been cropping up again. Presently it seems I have to reboot the machine 1 to 15 times before it actually boots to the desktop.

Alright so for quite a while now I've been running Mac OS X on an OEM Intel G33 motherboard that I pulled from a Gateway. The current hardware configuration has been the same for a while with no noticeable problems. I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600, an EVGA Geforce GTX 470, an Intel Pro CT gigabit ethernet card, and 6 SATA drives - 5 Western Digital HDs and one generic optical. Anyway, went to boot the system this morning and I got the "prohibited" symbol. Rebooted via reset switch and got the same thing. Booted in verbose and saw the line "SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully" a few times before it spat out a lot of garbage interspersed with a few "Still waiting for root device"s. I rebooted several times and it did this each time. Finally I booted in safe mode. It managed to boot to the desktop and I then ran Disk Utility on all the HFS+ drives in the machine. No errors. Tried regular boot again. No luck. Did lots of googling and now I'm going to check my DSDT patch. I've been using the same DSDT for a while with no issues, but another thread I read about the ICH9r SATA chipset (to be honest I'm not sure that's what I have but it's a good bet) having IRQ interrupt problems. It took a couple tries but it's finally booting in safe mode again now. This problem is really stumping me because it's so spontaneous. Would love if anyone has any suggestions for things I've missed. Thanks. EDIT: I undid the last change I did the to the DSDT, which was taking the IRQ line out of the RTC block but no luck. I also confirmed that my motherboard has an ICH9 southbridge. I went into the BIOS and put my SATA into IDE mode instead of AHCI but it still gets stuck at the same spot.

[SOLVED] Refining System for Speedstep - DSDT problem
Lord_Jeremy posted a topic in OSx86 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Hey, I've had a stable system for a while now. I'm running an OEM Intel/Gateway motherboard with G33 chipset and a Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU. In Mac OS X I've had a disabler for AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement since day one due to the KPs it will cause. I was looking to get speedstepping working with that kext loaded so I started researching DSDT patches. I extracted my DSDT and following this guide, attempted to make the changes. I defined the 4 p-states I should have and put in appropriate values with the help of p-state calculator. Then I recompiled with DSDT Patcher (1.0.1e) and put the .aml in my Extra directory. I also took out NullCPUPowerManagement and rebuild the mkext. On boot, I then get a KP from AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement complaining that no HPETs were found. I went back and ran DSDT Patcher again and it says that it found HPET and added IRQs, I see them in the decompiled file. I did a lot of googling but I can't find anything that even gives me an idea of what the HPET device section should look like. From my understanding, the patcher fix should have taken care of it. Am I missing something? Thanks. EDIT: Well I feel stupid... I had a nagging feeling I was forgetting something so I looked in my BIOS and low and behold there is a nice, shiny option called "Enable HPET." Not sure why it was off in the first place, but one little binary flip and now it's working. It remains to be seen if my system runs better following this patch, but it boots just fine now. -
Links on first page (post 3) for some patches are broken.

Heh, I just ran the OpenGL Extensions viewer and everything passed up until 3.0, which sounds right. Also, iDVD runs and IIRC that's one of the programs that complains when you don't have hardware acceleration. Oh and my menubar is transparent. So I guess I have QE/CI, even though it's not shown in System Profiler. o_O

Hey. I just upgraded from using a 9400 GT 512MB with the EFI string to a 9800 GT 1GB with the EFI string. The card is recognized properly in System Profiler but I don't have QE/CI. I had QE/CI with just the EFI string on the 9400. Also the card's fan is running at maximum speed all the time now. I'm guessing I need additional kexts, but google results are mixed. Any ideas? Thanks!

Incorrect clock speed reported for T7300 Core 2 Duo

What should it be? Maybe you don't want AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, try removing that kext. -
How to update kalyway 10.5.2 to 10.5.8?
Lord_Jeremy replied to Nate45's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
I'm sorry, but your post is entirely useless. We need to know exactly what kind of hardware you have. Also, I goggled exactly what you named your topic and found a huge amount of info on how to do just that. Do some research before you post please. -
Installed IPC but mouse and kb time out..
Lord_Jeremy replied to makko's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
We need to know what kind of hardware you have. I attached a program that will list the stuff in your system. Look for stuff like network controller and google the model number along with the word "kext". That's how you find drivers for your system. If you find kexts, you need to download them and put them in /System/Library/Extensions then repair permissions (Disk Utility) and reboot. On next reboot use the -f option. Hardware_Info.zip -
I'd download the installer package and open it with Pacifist to see if it installed any network kexts that might conflict with your previously working driver. If so, take 'em out!

Do you know if you're using vanilla or Voodoo kernel? (Not talking about audio kext) Have you ever installed any major system updates? -
Voodoo kernel

Core i5 750 single core working?!?!?!
Lord_Jeremy replied to mattgfx's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
May need a DSDT patch. I presume you're using the Voodoo kernel? If not try that maybe.
