pcmantinker
I was wondering if there is any solution to enable resolution changes with the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M for Snow Leopard. I hate having the resolution set to 1024x768 when I know that I can get at least 1280x800 or above. I'm not worried about QE/CI as I know there really isn't a solution to that right now. I've tried Callisto b008 and it appears to detect my graphics chipset, but then it just loads a bunch of white lines on a black screen. It doesn't load the desktop. I've also tried ATILead by Slice, but it just hangs. errandwolfe
Think you are going to be SOL. Don't think the X200 was even made working under Leopard much less Snow. pcmantinker
Bootloader Graphics Mode doesn't do anything. I'm not too worried about the resolution problem anymore. The main thing is that I was able to install Snow Leopard on the older laptop with an AMD kernel. Other than the resolution problem, everything else works well. Thanks for the information about the Radeon Xpress 200M. pcmantinker
I had to make a custom boot132 disc and replace the vanilla mach_kernel with one of the AMD kernels. I also had to add a few kexts to get the IDE controller recognized, but after I got that working, I was able to successfully boot into the installer.
