Hi all,

I'm quite desperate. I've tried everything I've heard of to install nativelly MacOS X 10.4.6 onto my machine, but although I have tried three different discs, no one works. When I reboot with the DVD inserted and the apple logo starts in grey tones it seems its trying to recognize the hardware and then a forbidden sign (the circle with the diagonal line) appears, and I can not do anything.

I have read the tutorials and from what I know some of the images should work, but none of them do. I've downloaded de HotISO, the Goatsec and the JAS (this one patched supposely) but with all happens the same.

My machine is an AMD Athlon 64 4800+, 2 Gigs of RAM, 3 SATA HDDs (650 GB total), and a Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI with nForce 4 chipset. The graphic card is a GeForce 6600 GT and I've got some other cards connected (sound, network) but I don't think there could be a problem with the SoundBlaster Live! or the Gigabyte wireless PCI card (with Ralink 2500 firmware).

Any ideas? Please, please, please... :-(

nF4/SATA problematic with OSX if you want to install on SATA.

For example, the Goatsecx info clearly stated sata2 was disabled because of this.

Although I have a SATA disc and can read from it (only ntfs partitions on it anyway), I installed all my oses on an PATA IDE.

Search the forum for the nVidia nf4 and SATA issue.

i had the same problem.

just plugged in some old 200 gb drive on the old IDE port and it worked like charme.

still cant access my raid0 sata partitions of the nforce 4 controller. all drivers installed correctly and working, but somehow they cant read raid(0) arrays properly.

regards, tom.
