Hello to all!

I have a strange problem with my notebook Acer Aspire 5738G.

I installed correctly OSX Leopard 10.5.6 from iAtkos v7 dvd, with Chameleon 2, and updated from Software Updater to 10.5.8.

The system is working quite well, but sometimes I got a strange behaviour with boot.

Sometimes the computer boots well, sometimes with -v option, sometimes with -f, sometimes I get only the grey apple logo...

I tried with rd=disk0s2, sometimes it helps, sometimes not.

Im trying right now with UUID option in com.apple.boot.plist.

I believe the cause is the chipset not fully recognized by the system.. Am I wrong?

What Kext have I to use?

Some help will be appreciated, sorry for my english...

Can you do some research into what chipset your machine has? If it has an IDE hard drive you're in for more problems than with SATA, I'm afraid. If it is SATA, make sure you have AHCI enabled in BIOS.

First of all thank you for your answer! :)

My Hard drive is SATA and of course my BIOS is enabled for AHCI, otherwise I cannot boot...

Strange thing is, even with UUID boot enabled in com.apple.boot.plist, sometimes I cannot boot...

I'll do some more research in the forum among those who got a Intel PM45 chipset, formerly called Cantiga...

EDIT:

North Bridge: Intel Cantiga PM45

South Bridge: Intel 82801IM ICH9M
