surfer96822
Boot 132 in hackintosh no problem, but when used on intel macbook i get error message that tells me I must restart. Note that the hard drive I cloned(disk utility) was the internal hard drive from the macbook. I realize to clone the boot hard drive you must boot off install dvd, but since this was not the hackintosh boot drive I simply cloned one disk to a new hard disk (all via sata) not usb. I checked and repaired permissions and verified disk. OSX tells me clone is bootable. Thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206842-cloned-non-boot-hard-drive-to-third-hard-drive-clone-boots-from/ Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
If I recall there are a few things you must do to make a clone work properly with a Hackintosh. I know this is true with Time Machine restored backups because you have to update the boot record and reinstall the bootloader. Check google. surfer96822
Can Diskwarrior fix this and make it boot? Lord_Jeremy
No. Like I said you have to reinstall the bootloader and use something like EasyBCD to reactivate it. surfer96822
I got Easy BCD installed but on startup it gives me message " bcd boot data and mbr not from latest version of windows vista or doesn't exist yet" option is to correct this but will require I have vista installed on tthis machine. ===================================== my problem is the HD I am trying to get to boot is connected to macbook via usb. apparently easy bcd does not have option of repairing boot record on disk other than current booted volume. I don't have or want vista. Maybe your guess is BETTER than mine LOL? Tried choosing usb HD as startup disk and restarted. Did not work. Lord_Jeremy
Oh ok. Wait, why are you Boot132ing on a MacBook? You mean a real apple macbook right? If that's the case, you can't just get a hackintosh system to run, there are all sorts of extra kexts and lack of other stuff that make a hackintosh install very different from an apple install... I am not using boot 132 on the macbook. I am trying to get the macbook HD clone(done on hackintosh) to boot on the macbook.
