  1. Hi. Any hope for Ozmosis for MSI X99 MB?

    Pandora's Box OS X installer

Can an EC dmg be used with Pandora to create an installer usb? Must it be in the applications folder and in app format?

Shock surprise able to boot EC on MSI x99 SLI MB with Xeon E5-2648L v3 12 core and legacy GeForce 7300 GS GPU to boot. Had used G41 Mavericks hackintosh to install EC with Clover, connected ssd to x99 box then used Pandoras Box Enoch bootloader with npci=0x3000 -v -f Bios most recent. Only change was to disable cfg. . Have not yet had time to install audio drivers etc etc. 3 gigabyte file transfer via usb took 1 minute and system report showed usb 3. Great idea. That worked fine. Avg 180 kb/second. There definitely is an issue with downloading the current version.

Thank you. Is there a way to save file to my profile content? If resume download were enabled I might be able to complete download. I picked up an x99 board and a 12 core Xeon e5 v3. Would like to try Pandora to install osx.

Cleared cache and also tried different browser. also tried internet download manager. Still the same problem. Wonder if its related to being in Bangkok? Have seen download speeds today to 800mbits/second

Download always fails despite high speed internet. Tried many times and resume is not supported. speed between 20-70 kb/second then fails.
  9. El Capitan runs fine on MSI X99 sli board with Xeon E5-2648L v3 12 core and 8 gigs RAM. I used a preconfigured virtual EC image and changed the language/location once running. For now have a NV 7300gs
  10. Apparently the X99 chip boards in general support Xeons as well as ECC Ram http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-X99-UD4(rev._1.0).html
  11. Seems thunderbolt transfer speeds are as good as a real mac. Hot plugging not working yet.
  12. They should have and could have used USB 3 ports so people can take advantage of currently available USB3 devices until Thunderbolt becomes widely available. A bad political strategy. There is great interest already in thunderbolt despite USB3 on the market. USB3 will suffice for some uses already without the need for thunderbolt
  13. I installed a new power supply and all the above problems are history. Even corrupted 2 new HD's beyond recovery/repair. I am not sure if my old 350 watt PS was faulty or just not powerful enough for the system. New PS is 650 watt inexpensive unit.

Drives not showing up in Snow Leopard

I recently had similar if not same issues. I tried switching sata cables, bought a sata dvd drive, even corrupted 2 brand new hard drives (under warranty) Seemed bios was corrupting. Sometimes would see all drives, sometimes not, sometimes wait a long time for bios screen to pass. I tried every imaginable bios config. SOLUTION: bought a new power supply and all these problems are resolved. I got a good deal on a 650 watt power supply but I suspect many 400-500 watt units would be fine also.
  15. GA-G31M-S2L Had many issues with 2nd HD as master channel 1 (used this drive for media storage) Boot drive 10.6.3 master 0 HD master Ch 1 DVD slave Ch1 Finally in enhanced mode (bios) I swapped sata cables until what apparently shouldn't work, worked. Bios settings (integrated peripherals) Primary PCI IDE disabled SATA mode enhanced Legacy USB stirage disabled. SATA port 0/2 set to Ch 2 SATA port 1/3 set to Ch 3 0 master none slave none 2 master WDC 1 gig drive 2 slave asus drw 24b1st 3 master hitachi HDT725 (boot drive) 3 slave none I have read that OSX requires channel 0 to boot ??
