Buckeyes1995
I recently built a rig following the guide over at lifehacker. The system is the cookie cutter build including the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P, 9800 GTX, etc. I have an ATI Radeon HD4870x2 that I wanted to try. So I put the card in, and to my surprise card came up, no modifications needed (I understand that it has no QI/CE support). Anyways, a game I wanted to play "World of Warcraft" would not run, always crashed. Looking for answers, I saw Netkas.org posts about some stuff you had to do. I follow the first piece of advice, and that is to install th KEXT that disables AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, "NullCPUM.kext". I installed it as follows: 1. Created an extensions folder on my desktop, and put the KEXT in there. 2. Drug the Extensions folder of 'KEXT Utility' and it generated a new Extensions.mkext 3. Copied the Extensions folder and the new Extensions.mkext back to 'Extra'. 4. Rebooted. The system just spins forever at the loading screen (grey screen). I tried again with another KEXT, same result (after a fresh install). Am I doing something wrong? Admittedly, I'm pretty new to this but I can read simple instructions Thanks! westwaerts
Check if the Permissions are set right. Maybe with the In/Out Copies they change. And run kextUtility out of SL, here it did not work properly out of Leo.
