Are you trying to use a VM system (VBox, VM Fusion or Parallel) or you are trying to have a dual boot ? if it's the 2nd case, make sure your have partitioned your HD as MBR because Windows doesn't recognize HFS+ format (GUID) and you must boot using the Windows DVD not to load the ISO from OSX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206050-install-windows-behind-the-mac-os-x/#findComment-1378496 Share on other sites

RSN
By not allowing to install Windows you mean that it says there are no valid disk available or something like that? If this is the case, it took me MONTHS to realize that in order to install windows (Any windows, Vista/ W7) you need a DVD and ONE (and ONLY ONE) HDD. If you have more than one HDDs it will not allow you too install stating something about there not being a valid HDD or something. (It seems require this since it boots 2 or 3 times during installation and it can get "confused" which is the installation target HDD... this is my guess). I disconnect the "other" HDD and leave the one where I want Windows to install (usually the same as Snow or Leopard). Disconnect means physically disconnect, take out the SATA data connector or IDE connector. It doesnt matter if its GUID or MBR. If you are going to install Snow Leopard it MUST be GUID. The installation order is irrelevant since you still will have to repair Windows once or twice after install. Also, after I disconnect the other HDDs, I have to format the partition where I want to install Windows. Ive done this at least, at least, 20 times in the past year with Leopard and 3 times with Snow. Hope it helps.
