Im stumped as to why some people have 2 channels and some (like me and a few others) have 6 channels (which 3 and 6 are of the working ones). If anyone can help me figure this out :) ...ill give ya a cookie.... :) . maybe there is a modifaction that can be made to the kext that would force 6 channels to appear in the midi/sound setup in the system tools? any and all help appreciated to get this final issue resolved.

I have two systems:

First System: AMD64 3000+, Asus KV8-SE Deluxe (Via Chipset), AC97 Soundmax, Using Goatsecx install disk. I have the two channel problem, it doesn't list 6. So no audio. I have no idea why.

Second System: Intel P4 3.2Ghz, Intel D865PERL, AC97 Soundmax, Using Jas install Disk. I can see 6 channels and using the 3/6 combo for left/right speakers worked. Audio works for everything except no audio when playing back from Quicktime. If I plug the speakers into the LINE-OUT port, then I get audio from Quicktime. I have no idea how to remedy this.

Except for the obvious that one is an intel and the other is an AMD, the only other difference is I used Goatsecx on the AMD, and Jas on the other. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
