Marc Connor
Can apple find out I'm running a pirated copy of Mac OSx86 if I run software update? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20481-help/ Share on other sites
gwprod12
Yes. They will Know. They will send their Lawyers/Stormtroopers who look like geeky milquetoast actors trying to be cool. They will carry machettes, and they will MURDER YOU! Actually, I really dont know, but software update, is, for the most part, unusable on a hackintosh. Marc Connor
Yeah, I know, but it sends them information about the computer, so I was wondering... Take a look at the forum what to do for a update (10.4.6). quixos
i don't think they care. i'm sure they are able to tell whether a computer is running a certain kernel version, alongside a certain application version, and when it doesn't compute. so far, they are getting positive reviews and mac sales from these "hobby macs". i don't think they will come and get us, cause they would spend in court, more than the amount of money they would earn when we eventually buy macs. adurbe
when you run software update you send info on your mac back to apple its similar to what you send when you report an error, Id be suprised if they bothered to come after you though. Your inbreach of contract but not really losing them any profits Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20481-help/#findComment-135186 Share on other sites
