Ok So here's the deal, i have just built my self a media pc. thinking how compatabile my hardware could be with hackintosh, but im not sure where to really start with a few things. i am not a n00b but its my first with snow leopard, please read on after i post my specs My PC: CPU: Intel Dual Core Pentium E5200 @2.50GHz RAM: 4GB OCZ ~With Heatspreaders~ Motherboard: MSI MS 7528 ~ LGA775 ~ mATX Graphics: MSI NVIDIA GF 9500GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E GRAPHICS Sound: ALC Onboard 888 ( I Believe, Not Worried about sound i've had that working ) HDD: 2 Partitioned, 500GB SeaGate ( Data & MacintoshHD ) ----------------------- Ok So that's my system as far as i know all of that is compatabile with hackintosh, i've had it running before using iPc With No Graphics Driver Enabled as i didn't know what to do . So a am asking you to help me by creating a short step-by-step guide for me, it will be very appreciated and if all goes well i will be happy to donate to your account via paypal. lateralusman Posted December 27, 2009 Share Posted December 27, 2009 First off your going to have a hell of a time getting anything other then a Core2Duo working in OS X let along Snow Leo. Even if you do. I don't think it's ever going to work as flawlessly as a Core2Duo. To run Snow Leopard you need a Core 2 Duo or better multicore CPU (will become the Core i3 family)......or a Core iX (X= 3, 5, 7, 9....) multicore CPU for GCD......but I would give it a try with the E5200 CPU......it should work......I have PM'd you....... I've seen on youtube that it works with the E5200, also i just ordered my graphics card, i bought the 'NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT 512mb, will that work good ?, and is there any pre-made distibutions made for snow leopard, such as iatkos etc ?, i'm unsure of the process with snow leopard. Lloyd Owen Posted December 29, 2009 Author Share Posted December 29, 2009 hey all, i decided to stick with 10.5.6 as it satisfies my need, all i need now is my dispatched graphics card, 9500gt 512mb, i take it i just use the efi strings ? and my e5200 working on both cores? yeah the thing is about that when ever i try booting with both cores my system restarts in a flash, using the speedstep kernel ipc. Please help one last problem away from victory!! and i know its possible im just missing the solution guys.
