themacmeister
PomPom's epic 360degree shooter, MutantStorm has been "accidentally" patched by me to work under OSX 10.5.6 on my AMD Hackintosh. These are the steps I took to get it working correctly. 1. Replaced statically linked (inside the app) SDL.Framework with version 1.2.13 off a backup. 2. Replaced all support files from PC install of 1.43 (the OSX version is labelled 1.42). 3. Pray! The app was originally randomly closing with no real error message. The app still is not 100% stable, and always seems to run better on the second launch??? ie: launch and quit immediately, then launch again. If for some reason, the game freezes, simply command-option-escape, and blindly hit enter, then enter to exit the program. There is no longer random closing, and the only glitch (if it is a glitch?) is some slight clicking of some sound effects (barely noticeable). I have a patched copy all zipped up waiting to post (14MB). Just waiting for some feedback regarding the app itself (I heard PomPom have not supported the Mac version for quite some time - and the Linux version even longer). PS. Playing with everything set on max, at 1920x1080 resolution - SWEEEET!!!
