Hi all,

I installed Snow Leopard with Rebel EFI but Dual boot doesn't work. I have windows 7 on a 2 partition HDD and Snow Leopard on another HDD (2 partition: snow leopard and fat32 for storage wich i can use on windows 7 too),

I tried with EasyBCD but it doesn't work (boot chain error) :P .

Could you tell me how to dual boot Windows 7/Leopard ?

It doesn't work it show "Bootmgr is missing"

I re-installed Windows 7 so bootloader doesn't appear at startup.

Here is my partitions:

Disc 0: 1st Partition --> 200mb (Protection)

2nd Partition --> 465.44GB (Where Windows 7 is installed)

3rd Partition --> 465.76GB (Where Leopard is installed)

not allocated --> 128mb

Disk 1: 1st Partition --> 540.89GB (Storage)

2nd Partition --> 360.62GB (Music/Production)

How can i set easyBCD or other bootloader to work with these partition to choose beetween Windows 7 and Leopard at startup ?

building on spalek83's post, rearrange your partitions so Snow Leopard is on Disk0, partition 1. This way, Your BIOS will default to the OS X bootloader and you can choose from there. I've had bad experiences with RebelEFI and since Psystar is closing up shop, I'd switch to Chameleon and one of its many adaptations. I use the myHack installer on my Snow Leopard partition and from there I can boot to my USB HDD, flash drive, and my Vista/Win7.

To make it even easier, use an HD for OS X and a different one for Windows. This way you don't have any file system complications and possibly slower performance. You can always add a FAT32 partition for cross platform Data.

But the most important thing is to have OS X at SATA0 partition 1.

I triple boot between OSX 10.5.8, SL 10.6.2, and Windows 7 (all on one hard drive, in a laptop). I started with a working 10.5.8 install, then added in Windows 7, then SL. But you should be able to do it in any order.

The important things are setting your active partition, repairing OSX's and and Win7's boot record as needed, and using Chameleon as a bootloader. I just used a boot cd to get into OSX when it wouldn't go, and the Windows install dvd to get into / repair 7. The long and short of it seems to be not giving up :yoji:

I have 3 Drives that I set up as follows:

drive 1: Snow Leopard + Vista

drive 2: Snow Leopard + XP (a smaller hard drive that i installed just in case i have issues with drive 1

drive 3: Storage

Bootloader: Chameleon 2.0 RC4 installed via EFI method on Drive 1 and Drive 2

My suggestion to you is:

1. Start with setting up a your OSX on your 1st drive.. Format the drive with GUID! Not MBR!

2. Read up how to install Chameleon via EFI method using the terminal in OSX.. Its not that hard so do it manually.. not with a package or script someone made because they dont work for everyone.. Install it to a flash drive or your 2nd Drive if you want.. the EFI method isnt necessary at this point but is later so if you get it right here then you're good to carry on

3. Make sure you can use it to boot your OSX before going any further!

4. Download the patch available online that will allow you to use Boot Camp on a Hackintosh.. Use boot camp to Partition your drive as it does a good job to avoid making mistakes..

5. After partitioning you can close boot camp because the next part doesnt work for everyone..

6. Restart your PC and install your Windows from CD.. but ALWAYS REFORMAT the BOOTCAMP PARTITION ONLY within the Windows installation to your desired file system NTFS etc.. Dont ever use convert!

7. Your PC will now only boot into Windows.. so boot from the 2nd Drive or flash drive with Chameleon and get back into OSX..

8. Once logged into OSX just reinstall your Chameleon bootloader to Drive 1 but this time it must be the EFI method!

9. Thats all.. this is how I did it.. and i struggled for days before figuring this sure method

10. Enjoy your Dual Boot
