I installed the 10.6.2 update and now im getting a kernel panic that says:

"Version mis-match between kernel and cpu PM~@/Sourcecache/xnu/xnu-148.6.2.11/osfmk/i386/pmCPU.c:681"

Heres my hardware:

Core 2 Quad Q8400

Gigabyte g41m-es2l

4GB RAM

nvidia 8800gts

anyone know how to fix this? should i just use 10.6 and not update at all?

Try deleting sleep enabler first and check if that causes the problem. If yes, then install sleepenabler for 10.6.2

http://code.google.com/p/xnu-sleep-enabler/

Here you can download SleepEnabler.kext.10.6.2.zip

I have a second drive with leopard on it, i dropped in the new sleep enabler. It still panics. Is there anything else i need to do?

Thanks

I had the same Problem. Boot the system in verbose mode(-v), that points out to the JMicron controller , i remove the kexts and the System boot up again and the I reinstall it, and I have Snow kitty back.

It may solve, try pay attention in the text when boot in verbose mode, if points out any device has cause the kp, in my case when the JMicron 363 Loaded the System reported panic.

I hope it helps!
