cocotutch
My HDD is displayed with its two Partitions as Orange Icons (External) on the Desktop and everywhere else in my perfect Retail Snow Leopard Install. In Disk Utility the "Connection Type:" is "External" when I want it to be "Internal" as I cannot Live Resize my Partitions whereas I could in Leopard with my Hackintosh. Please help me fix these two issues, cocotutch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202253-orange-hdd-icons-after-retail-sl-install/ Share on other sites
cocotutch
This kext is supposed to make the orange icons greyAre you saying that it is an internal disk that shows as external? Partition resizing can only be done live, that is if it is the startup disk with 3rd party software. The only software for mac that says it can do it is ipartition. (I have never used it). I would say make sure you have backup before using any re-partitioning software Yeah, the Internal Disk shows as External. And Disk Utility in Mac OS X Leopard can Live Resize Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Disks/Partitions as can Snow Leopard. I'm just wondering why it won't do it for me...... cocotutch P.S. I'm from Melbourne I seem to remember reading somewhere the disk needing to be partitioned with a GUID scheme not MBR for resizing to work, something to check for anyways.
