ddggttff3
Hello, Well I just ordered a new laptop, and I was wondering if Snow Leopard or even Leopard will work on this device. Here are the specs: • Intel® Core2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB) • 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) • 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection • 512MB NVIDIA GeForce G 105M • 14.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800) • LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support • Intel Wireless-N Mini-card with Bluetooth Now its model # is VB471AV, but it doesnt seem to be in HP's system (VERY new laptop I guess), but after some research it seems my wifi card will be eathor a intel 5100 or a 5300, and im wondering if Wi-Fi would work on this laptop. Any ideas? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201380-will-it-work-on-my-new-hp-dv4-series/ Share on other sites
landscapeman
It looks to be a better off than mine. I got iPC 10.5.6 final to install on my DV4-1124NR, but I have the intel 4500MHD and Broadcom wifi. I have yet to try boot 132 with retail. You may need to boot from a external hard drive/DVD or USB drive. I currently have it duel booting Win 7 and OSX Snow Leo, just had to install leo (used XxX distro), then did the motherboard patch thing, put it on a jumpdrive with snow leo, installed, and so far its working great! Running 10.6.2 on the 10.6.0 vanilla kernel, voodooHDA for sound (all i could find that works), and got drivers for the 105M GPU going, and I use voodooBattery for power monitoring. All I need now is wifi (intel wifi link 1000) and sleep to work, and im good to go!
