  1. Install hackint0sh in HP Pavillion Dv5 1170

First off it is possible to install to a external drive. I have had luck with a DV4 using iPC and iDeneb on a DV1000. You look to be able to do a retail install. A little more of a learning curve, but it can be done. Go ahead and give retail or any of the distros a try. See which works the best. Good Luck
  2. Any progress on Intel GMA 4500 support?

I think we are out of luck. Ether most have steered clear or bought other models.

  5. Got the IDT Audio Working on my HP DV4-1225dx

Just select the Broadcom driver in wireless from the list. Use iDeneb 10.5.6 or 10.5.8.
  6. GMA X4500

Has anyone fixed the stealth mouse? Using the extremely large mouse is a pain. Thanks

  8. install leopart on a p4

    What distros did you use?
  9. Quick Update Question

Sorry for the newb question. I have a HP DV1000 running ideneb 10.5.6 perfectly, I want to upgrade to 10.5.8 for software reasons. I have tried using the network update and it was stuck in a reboot loop. My question is can I use the ideneb 10.5.8 lite install DVD to install the update? Is there a better way? Thank You
  10. Will it work on my new HP DV4 Series?

It looks to be a better off than mine. I got iPC 10.5.6 final to install on my DV4-1124NR, but I have the intel 4500MHD and Broadcom wifi. I have yet to try boot 132 with retail. You may need to boot from a external hard drive/DVD or USB drive.
  11. I have only been able to install iPC final on my Intel DV4-1124NR. Did you have any trouble with "Still Waiting for Root Device" errors?
  12. Installation Help. DV4 Stiil Waiting for Root Device.

Ok, I got this to install using iPC 10.5.6 universal final. Now it seems that I am unable to find my DVD-ROM drive and ethernet/wireless.
  13. First off, I want to start off by Thanking this site for all it wisdom and help so far. I am having some trouble trying to install iAtkos and a few other distros on my HP Pavillion DV4-1124NR notebook. I started off by trying the install using a DVD and I received "Still Waiting for Root Device" So I mad a .dmg of the iAtkos 10.5.7 DVD and restoring it to a external hard drive, using Chameleon 2.0 to boot to the partition. I received the same "Still Waiting for Root Device". My Bios is limited on choices of boot order and fan settings. I have seen several members on here that has installed OSX on this laptop. Any ideas? Thank You I have tried iAtkos 10.5.7, iDeneb v1.4 10.5.6 XxX 10.5.6 and 10.4.11 Product Number FR933UA#ABA Microprocessor 2.00 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 Microprocessor Cache 2 MB L2 Cache Memory 4096 MB Memory Max 8192MB Video Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD Video Memory 1759MB Hard Drive 250 GB (5400 rpm) Multimedia Drive SuperMulti 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support Display 14.1" diagonal WXGA High-Definition BrightView Widescreen Display (1280 x 800) Fax/Modem High speed 56K modem Network Card Integrated 10/100 Ethernet LAN Wireless Connectivity 802.11b/g WLAN Sound Altec Lansing speakers Keyboard 101-key compatible Pointing Device Touch Pad with dedicated vertical and horizontal Scroll Up/Down pad PC Card Slots One ExpressCard/54 slot (also supports ExpressCard/34) External Ports 5-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader for Secure Digital cards, MultiMedia cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, or xD Picture cards 3 Universal Serial Bus USB 2.0 3rd port shared with eSATA 1 VGA (15-pin) 1 HDMI 1 RJ-11 (modem) eSATA + USB 2.0 1 RJ -45 (LAN) 2 headphone-out 1 microphone-in 1 notebook expansion port 3 1 Consumer IR Dimensions 13.15 in (L) x 9.45 in (W) x 1.34 in (min H) / 1.57 in (max H) Weight 5.18lbs Security Kensington MicroSaver lock slot Power-on password Accepts 3rd party security lock devices Power 65 W AC Adapter 6-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) What's In The Box HP Pavilion WebCam with Integrated Microphone HP Mobile Remote Control
  14. It takes a little more than any Linux distro. But all in all it was pretty straight forward. You just need to load the kernals and kexts to your hardware. iDeneb and iAtkos seemed to quite easy after I finally figured it out. But it will take a few installs and some reading to get it right.
  15. Problem during installing OSX86

Try re-burning at the lowest speed.
