The Operator
I have tried various installations, .kext options, BIOS settings etc. I cannot get Network, DVD drive or restarts to work on my hack 10.5.7 install. Audio and Video card appear to work out of the box, however. My specs: Intel Core2Duo E6600 2.4Ghz Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 4GB PC6400 RAM DDR2 ATI Radeon SATA HD IDE DVD Drive Please can anyone offer me any advice? I've searched the forums and followed a number of similar threads, which have referred to similar boards, to no avail. pitap
Hello, Firstly, altho this is better than some ignorant people posting this sort of topic in News related section, I don't think this is the best place to catch attention with regard to ur issues. For your IDE DVD drive, did you try JMicron driver or kext for whatever chip is used to control IDE. I believe ur board has ICH8R and does not have IDE support. For ur Lan, it probably has the Marvell chip as listed on spec of the board, you will have to find if there is driver for that chipset. For restart, the OpenHaltRestart kext "should" work good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201349-gigabyte-mobo-frustration/#findComment-1353553 Share on other sites

That's what worked for me IIRC with my 965P MB. As for the PATA DVD drive, you always have the option of getting a SATA optical drive. It's not as though they are too expensive, no?
