airecken
Hi, Any recommendations for a SATA bluray burner for use with a 10.6.2 hackintosh? Not looking for bluray disk playback, but want to burn back-up data files. Was looking at the WH08LS20K LG Burner from Newegg, but not certain it works. Any thoughts/feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200421-sata-bluray-burner/ Share on other sites

Thanks! That's the one I have. The system does recognize it, however, when I insert a bluray disc in the drive it will not play. Anyone know how to get this to work? aushack
Blu-ray data discs read/write is supported. either play Blu-ray movies using Blu-ray software in Windows or rip to an mp4 or mka in Windows and play in OS X with QuickTime Player (mka with Perian) or VLC. Cave Man
You can now play Blu-ray disc movies with OS X using Make MKV and VLC. A plugin for Plex is in the works to streamline the process.
