ashworthkid
i have a asus M3A78-EM board installed, and im having trouble getting ipc 10.5.6 to get to install screen. I used cd burner xp to burn ipc iso to dvd. It went well, but when I boot from dvd drive, the darwin comes up normally, and the apple logo appears, and STAYS ON IT! A few seconds later, a little square box appears and shows a circle thingy. Does it mean I'm missing something? According to CPUZ, it says SSE, SSE2, SSE3. This CPU definitly supports os x. Amd Athlon 64 LE-1640 4GB RAM, 2 80GIG SATA Drives, and a 250GIG SATA too. I want to dual boot and I want os x on the second 80GIG and windows is the first one. The 250GIG is Data. I would like to use Darwin's loader. I haven't been in the bios. Am I missing something? Is OS X looking for a Fat32 partition? What's going on here? I REALLY want leopard on this machine. Can I get some help or something THANK U!!!!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200419-help-install-os-x-on-amd-athlon/ Share on other sites
ashworthkid
Start in verbose mode to see where the installer is hanging. Have you done a search of the web to see if others have had success with IPC or other distro on that board i did that verbose mode thing and it stopped and said *still waiting for root device* i think that's what it said yea! What up with that? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200419-help-install-os-x-on-amd-athlon/#findComment-1348196 Share on other sites

quake
wow what an a=s=s, if u dont have anything productive for us and help us then y would u even post??? Have you tried a different distro. I know on my AMD athlon the only two I could get to install were Kalyway's distro and Iatkos v7. The rest would give some sort of error like the 'waiting for root device" or hang up somewhere. Don't be scared to try another. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200419-help-install-os-x-on-amd-athlon/#findComment-1348256 Share on other sites
