kalel83 Posted November 27, 2009 Share Posted November 27, 2009 I was just given a powermac g4 that works and I am wondering what I should do with it? it obviously can't run snow leopard... see so far I can mod my pc to put it in the case... but other then that, would it make a good server? what should I do with it? bonestonne Posted November 27, 2009 Share Posted November 27, 2009 depends on if you need it or not. if you don't need it, give it to someone who needs a computer. if you do need it, run tiger on it...and if that's too slow, get linux, and learn how to work with it. system admins who know linux will be hired over those who only know windows or mac. you can also use most desktop linux OSes as a server OS with the right software. just make sure you find PPC linux installers.
