After a week of trial & error I managed to install Snow Leopard 10.6 with Chameleon RC3 and get it running. Except the network. I followed different guides and tried using different kexts to no avail. All in all, I get Ethernet (en0) <-> Cable Unplugged. Things I've already tried:

1) Different AppleLegacyYukon2.kexts and YukonInjectors.kexts. I used Kext Utility after I've copied them to Extras/Extensions.

2) Manually editing *Yukon2.kext in IONetworkingFamily.kext (following tutorials which can be found here)

3) Turning off the ethernet and turning it back on.

My hardware is written below. Help! I need somebody...

What if this doesn't help? http://www.infinitemac.com/f57/how-to-snow.../post29505.html

One more thing, I have Ethernet option in Default Configuration, but I can't add an ethernet card when I select "+". There's only Firewire, PPP, etc.

Lots of people having trouble with it, have not seen satisfactory solution yet. Any chance of changine ethernet card for one compatable.

Some have had success with USB to Ethernet Netgear adapter

I'd rather go back to 10.5 then... Till Snow Leopard cooperates.

Still, I believe there's someone out there who might know a solution.

Yep well thats an option, remember apple will not write drivers for something that is not in their hardware. So hopefully for you someone will create a kekt for it

I fixed it!!! 88E8056 works now!!! A miracle kext did it for me. I don't know who made this kext however.

So, here's my solution:

1) Remove (and backup if you want) all YukonInjectors or Yukon kexts from Extra/Extensions and System/Library/Extensions/ folders;

2) Put IONetworkingFamily.kext in System/Library/Extensions/ folder, replacing the old one (it is better to backup and remove the old one beforehand);

3) Fix permissions by starting Kext Utility;

4) Restart.

i use all the dsdt patches in this thread (not sure if their needed for ethernet to work, dont think so tho) and the legacyappleyukon2.kext in my extra/extensions folder and it works fine. on a p5e btw.
