leslieking
Hi, I would like to buy a new DVD-RW (I have no luck with LG). Do you know a SATA DVD-Writer which is recognized as "Apple Shipped" in system profiler? Thanks! Allan C
My previous Pioneer DVR-109 is an Apple Shipped model ,but too old. Newly released Pioneer writer will work properly in OSX. leslieking
Thank you, mate. I have an older Pioneer 111DBK (Apple Shipped), but snow leopard doesn't support IDE drive. MacUser2525
Pioneer dvr-216bk - 0x80020025 errors. Someone recommend me a 100% working DVD drive for snow leopard? Seems weird I have that drive in my spare machine it works fine. How are the settings in the BIOS set/what kind of controller is it attached too Intel or Jmicron? Edit: I guess it is the D version but it should not make a difference. leslieking
Pioneer dvr-216bk work great but sometimes I lost the drive with following message: Pioneer DVR-216BK is a SATA drive. I have IDE disabled in BIOS (EP35-DS3L). I don't have JMicron in BIOS. BIOS Settings: SATA AHCI Mode: AHCI SATA Port0-1 Native Mode: Disabled Onboard IDE Controller: Disabled Same problem here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=124605 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198899-dvd-rw-recommendations/#findComment-1340227 Share on other sites

One idea left check in the Energy settings in System Preferences and un-check the "Put had disk(s) to sleep if possible" I had a problem with that before. macusers
I have a Pioneer DVR-212D OEM drive, it seems to work great on both Leopard and snow Leopard, and it is inexpensive.
