jellymonster
Hi, Basically, my hdd broke =(. So I reinstalled Snow Leopard using a different guide to last and it went a lot smoother. Upgraded to 10.6.2 no probs. However, a few things aren't the same. I have a GA-EP35-DS3L mobo and a Nvidia 9800GTX 1GB graphics card. I think I've installed all the right stuff for my mobo, but it's the graphics card which I'm doubting. The problems that I have found so far are dashboard doesn't have the ripple effect, going into exposes/desktop is really jumpy and VLC plays sound but not video. So far I have installed nvinjects and some things from here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=98666 Last time I used NVinstaller but that doesn't work for me anymore. I think there is no graphics acceleration. Hope you can help Thanks edit: Quite sure it's my graphics card now, when loading World of Warcraft it says could not find graphics acceleration. I'm not really sure on what to try now, I've tried loads of different guides but still no luck. pdave54
I have now re-installed snow many times and tried different ways to get the graphics card to work. Please help me =( Try "EFI Studio', think you have to get rid of the inject first, there a plenty of tutorials out there, also "gfxutil" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198097-no-graphics-acceration-on-my-9800-gtx-1gb/#findComment-1337251 Share on other sites
DAnilizer
I had kind of the same problem. I tried everything from EFI strings to DSDT then I finally just found out that the problem was from EVOenabler.kext in the Extra/Extensions folder! I removed that and everything was fine. everdone
I have now re-installed snow many times and tried different ways to get the graphics card to work. Please help me =( Generate an EFI string for your card using OS86tools and paste that into the com.apple.boot.plist in /Extras using a device-properties key. Remove any Injectors or other added video kexts whether in /Extras or S/L/E, reboot and you should have proper video. (look for 'Translucent menu bar' in Preferences/desktop) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198097-no-graphics-acceration-on-my-9800-gtx-1gb/#findComment-1337379 Share on other sites
itry2hide
I think I'm having a similar problem. If I can check the "translucent menu bar" option, does that mean openGL is working? jellymonster
ok, few problems. Firstly I didn't have an 'extra' folder until I installed chameleon boot loader, now it's empty. Secondly I can't find com.apple.boot.plist. And lastly I can't find my DSDT.aml :'( Edit: Found com.apple.boot.plist in L/S/SP and edited that. Can't find DSDT.aml though and really need it :S y bios keeps reseting.
