ergosteur
Hello everyone, I'm looking to build myself a new rig that will run Snow Leopard. I see lots of people have had success with a GA-EP45T-UD3LR, however I'm looking for a board that has 2 PCI express x16 slots (for dual graphics cards ). I'm currently running 10.5.8 retail on my ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, with everything 100% working (Lan, SATA, video, sound, etc.). Can anyone make a recommendation? Thanks! theotherone
The best way is to get a new P55-Motherboard, the Gigabyte P55M-UD2 is really cheap and with a core i5 and 4 or 8G 1333 DDR3-RAM you get results that are well above your old mobos. everything else is just changing parts without improvement. ergosteur
Why not keep that mobo then why get a new one Very true, the P5W has served me well... But I also forgot to mention that I'm starting to have issues where the rig won't POST and the BIOS randomly resets to defaults. Also, sometimes the SATA controller fails to detect drives. Basically it looks like it's going to fail soon. maybe I'll try Snow Leopard on it first, and keep using it until it actually dies. The GA-P55-UD3R should be almost the same as the P55M-UD2, right? My local store doesn't have the UD2.
