Hi there,

My Hackintosh doesn't boot anymore, and I think it's because of a failed 10.6.2 update.

First off, 10.6.1 ran very fine.

Then I tried to update to 10.6.2. At first it failed to boot because of dsmos.kext and sleepenabler.kext. Then I fixed that one, and it booted. A grey loading bar appeared. I guess this is where it installed the update as MacOS always does..

Here the computer froze because I forgot to delete AppleIntelCpuPowerManagement.kext..

After a reboot and deleting that one it seems to boot fine at first, but stops at some point. The wheel still spins.

In single user mode I saw this is right after loading the vmware kexts. Keyboard still responses, but it just doesn't boot any further.

Sometimes the HDD becomes active, but it still doesn't continue to boot.

I tried to install the update in single user mode via "installer -pkg update.pkg -target /", but it Segfaulted.

Any ideas? Please!?

I thought this would be software- related, but ok:

EP45-DS3L (Gigabyte)

4GB DDR2 RAM

E7400

NVidia 8600GTS

1TB Samsung HDD SATA

IDE DVD writer (plextor)

SB Live! working via kx audio

As I mentioned, everything worked perfectly in 10.6.1, until the update went wrong :)

I don't know what pfix is, but thanks for your reply.

Right now I got it working again:

Inserted 10.6 SnowOSX DVD, and installed 10.6.0 over my installation. Then booted into the system, installed 10.6.1, then 10.6.2, deleted all problematic kexts (dsmos.kext, AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, I know, NullCPUPowerManagement should block it, just to be sure).

After a reinstallation of Chameleon 2 RC3 and a reboot it now works fine as far I can tell. So happy!
