Beerkex'd
No problems so far on P4 Hackintosh (see sig). If you have jumpers for "USB device wakeup" on your motherboard make sure they are all set to +5VSB. Otherwise you will be unable to wake up your system from S3/S4 sleep from an USB device. Check your motherboard manual. Bruce Wang
New IOUSBFamily.kext is included in the 2009-006, you need to restore it if you used patched USB kext. My HP DV4 runs Leopard and it needs patched USB kext too. However, my system no longer sleeps after updated 2009-006, it used to work with SleepEnabler. SilveRain
My bluetooth was broken with this update! It said no device. Can anybody provide previous IOBluetoothHIDDriver.kext And it would better if you provide all 4 kexts before update. I think it should work! kidamnesiac
just to report that the update broke my usb and bluetooth too.. they worked fine with old kext iousbfamily vers 3.4.9 and bluetooth 2.1.8 i reverted to these old versions and everything turned out fine.. anyone has a clue on what apple did change on newer iousbfamily vers 3.5.2 and bluetooth 2.1.9 so that it did make my system stop functioning? oh by the way i'm on a hp pavilion dv5 1170el with patched dsdt for graphics and *not* for usb or others and was using stock usb and bluetooth kext (no voodoo things) so no patched usb family Leopard 10.5.8 kidA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196950-new-security-update-2009-006-safe-with-hackintoshs/#findComment-1329079 Share on other sites
Bruce Wang
New IOUSBFamily.kext is included in the 2009-006, you need to restore it if you used patched USB kext. My HP DV4 runs Leopard and it needs patched USB kext too. However, my system no longer sleeps after updated 2009-006, it used to work with SleepEnabler. I figure out why sleepenabler is not working after 2009-006 update. In fact, it's nothing to do with the update. Enable USBFix in Chameleon RC3 + stock IOUSBFamily.kext from 2009-006 = USB OK but no sleep with SleepEnabler Disable USBFix in Chameleon RC3 + patched IOUSBFamily.kext from Slice = Both USB and sleep OK Disable USBFix in Chameleon RC3 + stock IOUSBFamily.kext = No USB, sleep OK with SleepEnabler Seems USBFix in Chameleon RC3 is not compatible with SleepEnabler, at least on my HP DV4. holyfield
On some machines (HP Pavilion dv7) you don't have working USB after applying this patch, so be careful. Backup your system, at least minimum the extensions before update.!! You can find fixed USB kext here http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=337 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/196950-new-security-update-2009-006-safe-with-hackintoshs/#findComment-1339491 Share on other sites
