I am trying to get up to date with osX86 on my Dell XPS 410.

I have Windows 7 on primary hard drive (230 GB).

I have 2 partitions on a 2nd hard drive (1.5 TB), 1st (100 GB) is for osX86, 2nd is just for storage.

History on my machine:

I can install iAtkos 10.5.5 and boot with success. Once I install 10.5.6 update it won't boot anymore.

If I install iDeneb 10.5.6 I get "Waiting for root device."

Had luck with Kalyway 10.5.2, but can't get it all the way up to date.

iPC gives me "Waiting for root device."

Any suggestions? Is this maybe a problem with Chameleon v2?

Thanks.

Still waiting for root device is a problem of chipset/disk settings/drivers. Try setting SATA to ACHI.

My Bios is set to AHCI, in fact, that is the only way I could get iAtkos 5i to work, by using the SATA AHCI driver. I also set it when installing iAtkos 7, but still no boot. Just Boot1: error

Disable AHCI then re-enable it after install.

Ok, I haven't tried actually installing it that way. I should note also that in my BIOS there isn't an actual AHCI option, but a RAID option. My Inspiron laptop actually lets me turn it from AHCI to ATA, but my XPS is just RAID. If I turn that off I can't boot Windows anymore, it doesn't even see my hard drives. So, will I even be able to boot it like that if the Windows boot loader doesn't see my HD's?

I should note that to boot osX86 is added an entry to Windows bootloader with EasyBCD.

Thoughts?

I got 10.5.7 installed and tried booting from DVD, that works. I might try installing the latest release of chamelon 2 and see what that does.

Now my USB wireless (ralink 2870) doesn't work though. I'm even using latest driver from Ralink. It always worked on 10.5.5 iAtkos before. I tried USBFix, didn't help. My USB keyboard/mouse works.

Basically, my ralink software doesn't even see the device.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
