TripleJ85
Hey guys, This week i installed OS X tiger 10.4.6 on my P4C 2.4 on an intel board with an nvidia geforce4 mx 440. I was shocked at how smoothly everything went, sound/lan worked out of the box, and it was all fairly easy, i just had to add the SSE2 package from the HotISO, and install the latest macnvidia drivers so i could change resolution. One thing i can't do is watch videos, if i try with quicktime or VLC, they crash. Has anyone experienced this, or got ideas why this might be? My CPU only supports SSE2, could this be it? zu1u
this might help.. i imagine you don't have the necessary components http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=17199 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19410-cant-watch-videos-on-hackintosh/#findComment-127141 Share on other sites
TripleJ85
Thanks for that, it didn't fix the VLC problem, but lets me play videos in Quicktime dodgily. I assume the problem is the lack of 3d acceleration, has anyone else had the same problems running os x on a similar system? 1101011
Hi, i also have a nvidia graphics card, i found mplayer works the best and i can play xvid, divx, mpg files in full screen without droping frames. have a look here: http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...1882&hl=mplayer make shure you add the proper additional parameters in the preferences. -vf yuvcsp,scale=1024,noformat=yv12 -vo sdl -framedrop works best for me. also i found that with the macvidia drivers the video was a bit slower than with no driver(vesa 3). hope this helps. DJZero
Well I was having the same problems as some with no sound and VLC worked great.... I have a amd 3000+64 on a epox9npa+ultra and ATI Radeon x700 pcie with the radeon driver hack and divx installed and have PERFECT vid and sound now... To anyone else thats having extreme video jitter problems I would urge you to try to find better drivers or updates if available because your system should be more than capable of playing these types of files... just my .02 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19410-cant-watch-videos-on-hackintosh/#findComment-154574 Share on other sites
