Roman78
Hello there... I've setup a new computer and also installed OSX X86 10.4.6. It's running fine. Also my 3com network card and onboard soundcard are working. But the graphic card isn't. So i tryied some Ati Rage 128 (Very Basic) And also an GeForce MX2-400. So i downloaded Macvidia, and wooohooo and can change my resolution. But there is one problem left. i can't play DVD's and movies. DVD Player crached and VLC also when i want to start a movie. Whit the ATI Rage 128 DVD-player opens but there goes something wrong whit the screen (maybe it's because he sees 64 mb instead of 16). What could it be? NeSuKuN
I'm not sure, but I think video players need Core Image and MacVidia lacks of CI/QE support yet. I have the same problem with my nVidia 6600 :/ I could be totally wrong 'coz I'm a MacNoob. westep23
DVD player needs QE and/or CI. Macvidia has neither including OpenGL. And the rage might have opengl (but i doubt)but I know it dosn't have QE/CI not even on a real mac. Roman78
But on a real Mac i can watch DVD. Even on a ATI Mach64 whit 2 MB VRAM. What card/software/driver supports it? I just want a machine to work (Photoshop/FCE/DVDSP) and to listen to music (works) and watch DVD/Mpeg/Avi films. Now i have a Quicksilver whit a G4-533, Digital Audio whit a dual G4-1.0 and an iBook G4 1.2. It's no problem when i have to buy a new card! cacak333
then you have two opinions! 1. dont buy a new card, wait some days and MACVIDIA will bring out a new driver which include CI / QE or 2. buy a newer ATI card and you will have CI / QE Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19336-videocard-problem-geforce-2mx-400/#findComment-126937 Share on other sites
Roman78
OK than ATI. But what drivers do i need? I have some Rage 128 (16 Meg) or Radeon 9700 Pro(128 Meg). I also have some 9000 or 9100.
