RobbieL
Hey guys, I've seem to run into a little (and strange) bother trying to install OS X 10.6 onto my PC. The install went without a hitch, and when finished told me to restart. However, on restart the PC got power (fans were going, lights were on etc..) but the PC didn't POST at all and the monitor couldn't get signal. Tried restarting a few times and it's the same result. Haven't the foggiest what could of possibly caused it. Surely if it was a OS X problem the PC would still POST, no? My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R and graphics card is a ATI x1950 Pro. The process I used was for a vanilla install for the board I have using chameleon. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Cheers. jasjeet
you need to reset CMOS, take out the battery from your mobo, leave for 10mins then put it back in. Your mac didnt shut down properly, make sure you have the required Kexts in the Extra folder for a proper shutdown. MacUser2525
Ah, never thought of that. Will give it a shot when I get home from work. Will let you know how I get on. Another thing you should be aware of is that there is a bug that resets the CMOS when powering down on some Gigabyte boards with 10.6. There is an edit that can be made to the DSDT.aml file that will eliminate this problem since the site search here sucks use Google with "reset cmos fix site:insanelymac.com" without the " to search the site using it to find out what you need to fix it.
