SticMAC™
Put your Install DVD in the machine while it is showing the "?" if it does not auto boot, then switch off by holding the powerbutton down for 5 sec. Hold the C button down when switching it on to boot from the DVD , or the "ALT" key until it shows you the DVD, select it, then follow the instructions..... IT recycling
Won't work on the new macbook. You need a newer operating system. Without the DVD, there's nothing you can do. The old tiger disks won't have drivers for the intel macbook. Oczo
Apple should have provided a replacement OS disk to restore your system in case of errors. Try using that. If you formatted your hard disk NTFS, you may have to use Disk Utility to format it to HFS+ (Macintosh OS X Extended (Journaled)) before re-installing the OS. french squared
ok guys I call a fren of mine and he told me that he has snow leopard the original disk can this work on my mac book pro????? Yes, but you will have to use disk utility to reformat the harddrive Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/192837-help-with-my-mac-book/#findComment-1317802 Share on other sites
IT recycling
Yes, but you will have to use disk utility to reformat the harddrive Before you do, double check that the installer can't see the drive. If it comes up in the installer, then it should take the install. One other thing to note: You can install a copy you d/l. Are you booting from DVD? If so, are you holding down the "C" key while booting? Try resetting pram and openfirmware before doing a clean install. If the OS you're installing is older than the one previously installed, then you need to clear the openfirmware to downgrade!
