liupingguo
have a successful installation of SL, with Sapphire HD 4870 w/512m DDR5 sitting on it. All works except the sleep/wake up. I hooked up one 22" through DVI (or HDMI to DVI adapter, both fine!), one 19" trough DVI to VGA adapter, works too! ---must be on the lower DVI port, or fail. Dual display is awesome, When comes to sleep, the machine did shut down everything, fans, light all gone. But when let it wake up, machine seems to be back to work while the screen just wouldn't come up. Tried the new released Netkas EFI 10.4 boot file, still no woking >.< Anyone has the same experience or solution? I don't think this has anything to do with dual display, cuz I tried with single DVI, same. Also reported by HIS HD 4870 512M member as no screen back. My specs: EP45T-UD3LR with E7200, 8GB DDR3 1333MHz, Sapphire HD 4870 w/512m DDR5 Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x9440 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-B7710C-176 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.318 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/191852-any-luck-on-ati-hd-4870-sleep-issue-under-sl/ Share on other sites
MeAngry
Not that I can help you, but I'm having the exact same problem. When I install a simple Geforce 7200 card, sleep works exactly as intended, and with my ASUS Radeon 4870 inserted, it won't come out of sleep... Also, GraphicsEnabler isn't working at all for me, EVOenabler and ATY_init do though, but I don't understand what the difference is. Except for that GraphicsEnabler seems a much cleaner way to me. RNA Helicase
I'm having the same issue with an XFX 512 4870. I have noticed that if I wake it then switch the DVI port (ie move the cable to the other DVI port) I get a scrambled screen. If I switch the ports while the computer is awake I get nothing on the screen from the second port. I haven't tried dual display yet, I don't have a second monitor at the moment. bbeepp
My Radeon 4870 wakes up from sleep only on primary display. Secondary doesn't work after going back from sleep. Both displays work before going to sleep. I'm using latest Chameleon RC4 with GraphicEnabler=yes in com.apple.Boot.plist.
