Kilopopo Posted June 6, 2006 Share Posted June 6, 2006 hi i was able to install the 10.4.6 hotiso on my amd sse2 system. the patches are 10.4.6 Combo update AMD Base System AMD SSE2 AMD SSE3 Semjaza File Decrypt AMD When i use all these patches Except AMD SSE3 i cant seem to boot mac but when i just applied AMD BASE and AMD SSE2 it boots but the mac version installed is only 10.4.4 how do i patch so that my install is 10.4.6? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/19170-help-installing-hotiso-1046-on-amd-sse2/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
gwprod12 Posted June 6, 2006 Share Posted June 6, 2006 The answer is obvious. The SSE2 and SSE3 patches are mutually exclusive. Either you have a CPU that supports SSE3, or you have one that only supports SSE2... Since your processor only supports SSE2... you use the SSE2 patch. What motherboard are you using? What chipset is it? Have you used verbose mode? does it give you any errors? Are you able to boot into OS X at all? These are important questions. Kilopopo Posted June 6, 2006 Author Share Posted June 6, 2006 I have HP zv6000 Laptop. This one has ATI Xpress 200m Motherboard. ATI CHIPSET. I am not able to boot to Mac at all when I use the patch 10.4.6 Combo Update, AMD Base System, AMD SSE2 and SemjaZa 1.2 AMD File Decrypt. When I boot I dont see any errors. It just takes for ever to boot. 1hr have passed and my System is still using cpu cause i can see the light in my system goes on and off abut it wont boot at all. If yes, please use the -v switch while booting natively and give us a shot of your screen where it hangs. Rayan Posted October 20, 2006 Share Posted October 20, 2006 Sorry to ask the obvious, but are you plugged in to the wall AC outlet while booting? If not it will take ages to boot since osx86 does not work at full speed under battery power for some reason. good luck!
