I have successfully install 10.6.1 on a intel mother board WX58BP. Everything is perfectly working. Right form Ethernet to onboard sound, Display card ( GT7300,256) , sata everything. … Have loaded lots of applications along with Logic 9, Spectrasonics, Kontakt etc. All are working fine. Now the problem is my sound card MOTU firewire MK2 is not working. I have tried installing the latest driver from the site- “MOTU_Audio_Installer-1.4.23.zip”. Tried changing the internal and onboard firewire cards. But avail no success.

Anybody have any success story on the same. Please inform. Thanks

OSX 10.6.1 using retails disk

Intel WX58BP, i7 920, 4 x 2 GB DDR3@1333, 150GB WD Raptor, nVidia 7300GT,256mb

I too am having the same problem but I did manage to get a borrowed RME Fireface 800 to work without an issue.

So, as far as the Motu drivers are you guys sure they're not 64 bit?

Intel P45, Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz, 8 GB DDR2 800, GeForce 9800 GTX 512mb.

I have been trying to start with arch=i386 to active 32bit but could not. Please help

What happened? Try arch=i386 -v -x and if it doesn't boot you should see some kind of error message.

You need to provide more details about your installation and your system configuration.

It's a good idea to add some minimal information to your signature - like I have in mine.

Hello to everyone,

I'm a completely ignorant here but could someone explain me what do I have to do in order to boot with the mentioned arch=i386??

I tried this link in order to boot in32bit and 64bit alternatively and nothing...

http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=4716&tag=rbxccnbzd1

The new imac boots in 32bit anyway, am I wrong?

I have contacted the MOTU technical Support a million times and I have to say that they've been wasting my last 5 days assuring me that their new driver 1.4.23 for the MOTU Mk2 and Firewire interfaces is fully compatible with Snow Leopard...

Any thoughts about this?

Thanks!

Eliseo

Hi ,

I have a Motu 424 PCIe card working along with my Motu 2408 mkII on my Gigabyte Ga-EP45T-DS3 System running on OSX 10.6.2...

So far there has been no problem or what so ever.......

However I have been getting these silly kernel messages from my console happening during boot...

which slows the boot time..

I wonder if anyone else running 424 card geting similar messages ???

and I am not sure if they are indicating a problem??

everything seems to be working ok..

probably a bug of motu driver it self....

even though motu claims that their new driver 1.4.23 (PCIAudio(1.2.2)) is totally SL ready, I personally don't believe it as so many people (including real mac users) are having problems working motu devices on 10.6.x especially on 64 bits.

hope that they fix it soon.....

if anyone can enlighten me I would be glad..

i had this same problem with several peices of audio equipment such as a Motu Interface, A Metric Interface and the UAD 2 DSP cards.

None of these guys work in 64 bit mode, so you need to run snow leopard in 32 bit to get them happening.

i fixed this problem by going into my extra's folder and change the com.apple.boot.ptlist -

i changed the <string>arch=x86_64 ..... from "64" to "32"

when i rebooted i was then rebooting in 32 bit mode.

you can check to see if your snow leopard in running in 32 bit mode by going to:

About this Mac -> More Into. Then click on the software section on the left. You will see "System Software Overview" come up on the right. 2nd from the bottom youll see

64-Bit Kernel and Extensions: No (if your in 32bit mode)

or

64-Bit Kernel and Extensions: Yes (if your in 64bit mode)

As soon as i got it to say no. then all of a sudden all my gear starting working.
