lladnek
I have a dell inspiron 530 desktop and everything is working besides the audio. Here is the information from the audio device using OSX86Tools. 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller [8086:293e] (rev 02) Is there a driver available for this? I have tried the ALC888 driver without sucess. I have removed the AppleHDA.kext as well in hopes this would resolve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! lladnek
Are you using an inspiron 530? I have tried every kext out there and the only one that seems to work is the Voodoo drivers. These allow me sound from the front panel but not the back. And I am unable to get my mic to work at all. Any info on the exact kext you are using if you are on a 530 would be helpful to us other 530 users. Thanks! lladnek
Ok, so I am now using the voodoo kext below. I am using the light version that is not patched and I can use the green speaker jack from the back panel, the red mic jack from the back panel and the headphone jack from the front panel. I wasn't able to get the front mic jack to work, but atleast I am now able to get my mic and speaker to work without any crackling. If I check under system profiler it still shows that I do not have any onboard sound, but in reality they actually work. So I dont care realistically. If anyone else is running a 530 and wants it fully functional this is what I am running. Q6600 Processor 3GB DDR2 800mhz Memory Mac OSX - iATKOS 5i - upgraded using software upgrade from 10.5.5 to 10.5.8 Usb keyboard Usb mouse Viewsonic Monitor Realtek PCI network card Serial ATA DVD-ROM Serial ATA Hard Drive 8800GT Video Card I am using the KFuse Drivers for my Video card, checked with installation. Voodoo Sound Drivers loaded after the fact. ACHI SATA Hard drive drivers checked with installation. Everything else worked with default mac drivers. http://thireus.dareyourmind.net/VoodooHDA_By_Thireus.zip = Sound Drivers AppleAHCIPort.kext = Serial Hard Disk Mode with AHCI enabled, this is default for our machines. IOAHCFamily.kext = AHCI driver to make serial hard disk detection possible. Mac sure to leave BIOS set to IDE not RAID for your bios setting. Good luck fellow 530 owners and hope my information helps someone else!
