Can't seem to get to the Internet.

I tried Realtek1000 In E/E and in S/L/E. Didn't work.

I Installed the driver from Realtek's site. It made things worse - It gave me the "No cable attached" message.

The thing is, it recognizes my network adapter, it just won't get an IP. I get the 169.254.something.something ... internal IP. DHCP is on, btw.

Everything else works perfectly. Video and Sound are even better than on my flawless 10.5.8.

I'm Running at 32 bit mode.

I'm attaching my DSDT.aml. Maybe someone can tell me if I did something wrong, because I also get a system slowdown when I plug my iPhone in, and when I disconnect it and Logout and back in, everything is back to normal...

DSDT.aml.zip

Didn't work. Tried with half/full duplex and with 100t and 1000t. Tried to turn off ipv6 (dunno why:) ).

Managed to install Realtek1000.kext. Didn't do anything except add a lot of lines just before the sound assertions when I start with Verbose mode. Tried it both in 32 bit and 64 bit (apparently I can Boot with both just fine and have everything work perfectly except internet).

Now, as I understand it, other ppl with this 8168 cards can use them right out of the box, so I'm thinking it may be linked to my DSDT.aml.

Currently I patched it with Lan. I'll try making another one with GIGE and see if it makes a difference.

Solved !

Apparently the Ethernet adapter isn't working in 64 Bit mode. Once I changed to 32 (I hadn't actually realized that I was on 64 bits the whole time), it automatically recognized my controller.

I DID make a new DSDT, however. And I think it was a better one, Ethernet wise.

switching to 32 bit is not the right solution...

if u want to use it into 64 bit set the ethernet to 10 not 100.

I know the speed is very slow, we need a recompiled version of 8168 -8169 kext for 64 bit

Thanx for the reply.

In 64 bit I was stuck with an Internal IP and couldn't get DHCP and internet. No matter what I did. I even installed the Realtek.kext. I even tried the driver from the Realtek site. That didn't help either. It works in 32 bit. at all speeds.
