fraikonz
Hey sarge, Try this: Do NOT install the printer packages or anything extra, just the main things (I forget if there is anything important to install, but I think I installed the bare minimum and it was just one or two things). Make sure you are using an unmodified Snow Leopard image too. ALSO GOOD NEWS TO THOSE WHO DIDN'T GET THE WEBCAM TO WORK: Search for CamTwist and install the package when it finishes download. Open photobooth first and then the Camtwist app. Play around with CamTwist settings, (all I did was add the webcam and it worked eventually). Unfortunately, I have the upside down webcam problem, I'll find something for that soon... runner(PY)
hello all!! i have a G50vt-x1, and i have succeded intalling a OSX 10.6.3 but im having some issues, and i want to share with you so you can help me if possible First is the camera, ive read that some of you have their camera working from out of the box, but mine doesnt then comes the graphic performance, i have the 1366x768 resolution and it is awesome, but... the performance while playing videos or using some transition effects is very bad for a 9800M GS card. and also im having trouble with the "preview" app, i cant visualize any jpeg pictures with it. When i open any picture it shows me the preview window in the size of the picture, but no image. ahh!! and also the vga port for a secondary screen doesnt work either thats my main consern, because im gonna need it for a presentation this month. Well guys, these are the only problems im having now, if you have any ideas please share, ok? thanks!! and btw, is there any manager for unistalling the unnecesary drivers that the installation may add? like tuneUp UnistallManager or so? Tamed G
Great topic. Running on a G51IJ here and the only thing I have problems with is sleep, it has been bugging me for a long time. I am now using zmzhuai123's DSDT posted in this thread but sleep doesn't work for me, what kexts are you guys using to enable sleep to work properly? Whenever I choose sleep the display goes black, there's some disk activity and then the HD light stays stuck on. I have to force a hard power down as nothing will wake the machine back up. If I try and reboot then the computer tries to recover from the boot image but when it gets to the end of the progress bar it crashes. The computer also has trouble powering down when I choose shutdown, again the hard drive light and power lights stay stuck on at the end of shutdown. G51IJ Bios 208 10.6.2 with vanilla kernel zmzhuai123's DSDT Please help me fix this one last issue on an otherwise perfect system. I haven't tested video yet, but i played games on it (Team fortress 2) and it runs decent, but not the best, which kext are you using? and also im having trouble with the "preview" app, i cant visualize any jpeg pictures with it. When i open any picture it shows me the preview window in the size of the picture, but no image. works for me, but I'm n 10.6 ((you said you were on 10.6.2)), maybe thats why, or maybe your display "driver" is incompatible with 10.6.2 ahh!! and also the vga port for a secondary screen doesnt work either thats my main consern, because im gonna need it for a presentation this month. http://aplawrence.com/MacOSX/dual_monitors.html Well guys, these are the only problems im having now, if you have any ideas please share, ok? thanks!! and btw, is there any manager for unistalling the unnecesary drivers that the installation may add? like tuneUp UnistallManager or so? Don't think so, just do the manual uninstall To every genius in this forum I installed MAC OS Leopard 10.5.6 (iATKOS v5i) three times today on my ASUS G50VT with no luck. The error I am getting is when I finish installing the OSX the machine reboots and it hangs on the apple logo with loading circle at bottom and it lasts for ever. One more thing, I had to use CPUS=1 for the installation to begin. I will be very grateful if anyone can help solve this issue. if himac's solution doesn't work, make sure youre using version 7 of iAtkos, thats the one I used to install mine Great topic. Jakweeze
Has any one that's been using this thread updated to 10.6.7 yet through the Combined update? I ran and updated to 10.6.5 through a previous combined update and that's running swell, just don't have the ability to do a system backup atm before I try the update to 10.6.7!
