1. OSX 10.7 G51JX X1 Lion fully working!

I am but you didn't acknowledge my questions above. What exactly does the DSDT.aml do in this situation, does it help with the power and sleep options? I'm trying to use this again as soon as I put it in my extensions folder I get severe PCI Configuration lockups and had to delete it via Terminal. I have already deleted AppleHDA.kext but continue to get the PCI Configuration lockups, not doubt because my my G51 has the GTX 260M rather than the 360M in your machine. How can I modify the DSDT.aml to factor for that difference? Also I'm not currently getting Voodoo Battery to work (can't see it) and Asus keys doesn't appear to be working. Edit: The sound and Mic problems are now resolved thanks to the new VoodooHDA files. Edit: Tried the new ACPI, gives me a KP every time Thanks for you efforts. Joel
2. OSX 10.7 G51JX X1 Lion fully working!

Have you got shutdown working? I didn't use this install guide myself, I went the #####/Retail/##### root which is virtually perfect out of the box. Just had to add the Atheros kext for the ethernet. Still struggling with - Voodoo Mic always being on - Shutdown, never powers off fully - Sleep, screen never powers up on resume For thos of you struggling with the PCI Configuration issue, I found it was brought on my the DSDT.aml in my system. Logging in to a terminal session and deleting that file from your extras folder should stop the PCI Configuration issue.
3. Fresh install on my Asus G51Jx PM55 GTX 260M Used EFI to boot, Installed Retail 10.6.2, booted no problem. Updated to 10.6.8 Installed ##### 3.9.0 Now on boot in my -v log I always hang up at "PCI Configuration Begin". Added this string to my com.apple.boot.plist Kernel Flags npci=0×2000 Tried installing aty_init.kext. but still just sitting at PCI Configuration Begin. Any help greatly appreciated.
4. ASUS G51VX- Anyone try this laptop yet?

Here's my extra's folder for my G51J which is fully functional except for shutdown and SD card reader. I have a full retail version of 10.6.4 running the vanilla 10.4 kernel. G51J specs are very similar to the VX, try my DSDT at your own risk, it gives full GTX 260m support with acceleration and all the goodies.
5. I have the Asus G51-JC using SL retail 10.6.4 with vanilla 10.4.0 kernel on it's own drive. Boot: Chameleon RC4 Drive 0: OS X 10.6.4 Drive 1: Windows 7 Home Premium Hardware changes: Asus g60 207 bios update. Upgraded the wifi card to a Dell DW1510 for wireless N OOB Here's all the extensions and DSDT.aml I am using on my G51-JC which give full accelerated graphics support for the GTX 260m and the smbios.plist with a lot of the system info correct in it. Keyboard and trackpad working, built in cam, ethernet etc. Everything works perfectly except shutdown and the SD card. Extra.zip
6. Man my system was working perfectly yesterday but I just had to mess with it and now it won't go to the desktop without using the empire efi boot disk. I tried a new dsdt file that someone posted but it wasn't very good, so I deleted it and put my old one back. Used kept utility to make sure all files and permissions are updated. Rebooted and now when I watch in verbose boot I can't see any errors but when the boot sequence gets to the end it just sits there and won't launch the desktop, it just sits on waiting for Dsmos Any ideas? Edit: fixed. I had made a change to fakesmc.kext which was causing the issue
7. Make sure you aren't chain loading off the windows boot loader, you need to go straight into chameleon
8. Thanks, I will check that out. Here's a good thread that got me to the point I am at... http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=211724 Make sure you download the Kext and DSDT pack Kevin171 links in post #17 and use those files. Make sure you have bios 206 or higher ( use 207 for the G60 laptop) Make sure you use Empire Efi boot disk to install OSX
9. Chameleon won't DIE! Help

Thanks, I was chain loading off of the Windows boot loader which was causing problems, solved now.
10. [GUIDE] Snow Leopard on Asus G51J/Jx

Using the Asus system scan at their web site, they recommend the G60J Bios for the G51JC that I have. See if you get the same results, there is actually a 208 also... http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx As for keeping the thread tidy you are right but it seemed dead to me, glad someone is responding to it. Update: Installed a Dell DW1510 mini-card and now have full wifi OOB, easy swap out of the Intel card that came with the laptop.
11. Hi all, So happy I just dropped in my DW1510 that I got from eBay for $28 and it fired up first time OOB, finally I have wireless!!!!! Just wanted to check in and see what speeds others are getting with the card to make sure I have it set up properly, so far I'm seeing about 4mb/s on network file transfers from my windows shares which is ok but not blazing fast. Are there any settings I should be tweaking to increase performance?
12. Are they showing in system profiler or just not showing in iTunes? Make sure you have the latest bios update for your mobo, that did the trick for me.
13. I know a bunch of people out there are using these fantastic laptops and having great success with SL using the Empire EFi installation method and very few kexts to get a nice install. (I'm one of them ) Just wondering if anyone has managed to work out how to fully power down their system with shutdown. Closest I get is CPU halt, screen off but my hardware lights and fan stay on.
14. Thanks, yep I figured it out in the end, it was a missing file I had missed.
15. USB and iPhone

I found my solution in a bios update, installing the newest update for my laptop's motherboard seemed to clear up any USB problems I had. Thinking back my iPhone was always a bit flakey with Windows on this machine so the Bios update may have been long over due for my USB functionality.
