Sjeezo Productioñe
Hi all, I've got everything to work on my fresh Snow Leopard but I can't get sleep to work. Installed S.L. with retail and Chameleon RC1 and a custom DSDT ('cause i had trouble with the Chmos reset-stuff). openhaltrestart.kext and sleepenabler.kext are installed properly. Sleep always worked on my Leopard but not now on my S.L. so Please, anyone, advice? Thanks in advance !! Grtzz__ Sjeezo Can't help you mate but just thought I'd let you know I have the exact same mobo and problem. Very clean install using lifehacker guide but missing some kexts for audio and LAN, not as problem as I have USB audio adapter and Apple's USB ethernet adapter so all good. Did you get the on board devices working? I assume that is just in 32 bit mode? I think my problem is I can't boot into 32 bit mode and some of the fixed kexts won't work in 64 bit but so far not a single KP in 64 bit so I"m quite happy. As far as sleep goes, it's the fans and power that won't go off, the OS goes to sleep, but won't wake up. Looks like we might have to wait for a Voodoo kernel to sort this as this was the only answer for me in 10.5. Out of interest what specific BIOS changes did you make as the BIOS in this mobo is quite limited compared to the higher end Gigabytes. I'll keep looking and post back if I find anything. Sjeezo Productioñe
Hi, Finally some1 who is having the same problem! I'm running 64-bit mode. And yes everything is working onboard. Maybe you are thinking to try to flash your BIOS for an ability to have the AHCI-mode, but i can tell you, I've flashed my BIOS with several versions and not one shows the AHCI option. (Some say this can help with the sleep-mode). My sleep does exactly the same as yours so...yes we have to wait for a solution.. When I find something, I'll also post it here. Grtzz That's interesting. You have on board sound and LAN working in 64bit mode. Well done! Which install method did you use? Can you tell me which kexts you are running in chameleon/Extras/... to achieve this? I've checked back to the Gigabyte support site and I seem to have the last available BIOS for the board...F2. Maybe you have a different version of the board? Mine is version 6.6 but I know there are two others. It's good to find someone with the exact (maybe?) same board as mine although I have to say I'm thinking of changing it to one of the more common, but expensive Gigabyte models as there seems to be more support resources available for them and our board is quite limited with max amount of RAM at 2gb and lower FSB. Going to give the 10.6.1 update a try today. Should be ok as all my additional kexts are are in the Extras folder. /S/L/E is completely vanilla. I'll let you know how it goes. real_sinjon
Did the 10.6.1 update this morning via Software Update and everything was fine. Very small update, only 10mb or so on my Hackintosh. Yes, my motherboard is a gigabyte: GA-945GZM-S2, it's known for the out-of-the-box-ethernet on a hackintosh. The bios version i'm currently running>> i.d.n. (2 lazy 2 reboot) but i tried all the versions and none of them had a AHCI-option. The kexts i'm running: -AppleRTC.kext -fakesmc.kext -IOAHClBlockStorageInjector.kext -LegacyHDA.kext -NullCPUPowerManagement.kext -OpenHaltRestart.kext -PlatformUUID.kext -SleepEnabler.kext Thanks for letting me know if the 10.6.1 update worked, did it myself and yesss it's running perfectly!! Oh yeay, don't forget to install "VoodooHDA.kext" with "Kext Helper b7" and you've got the audio. G. Steel
Exact same problem. OS will go to sleep and machine won't wake up. If I start in 64-bit mode no internal ATA/SATA drives visible. Starting in 32-bit rock solid, using ext. usb audio. Using modbin test7 kernel following the AMD install guide (yeah, I tried every variation of vanilla and it did not work). smbenson
I have same mobo, SL installed with ChamR2 and built-in video not working in SL. Any chance you are running GMA950 and have a modded dsdt that works for video? BlackCH
Hey guys, last weekend I had my hands on a 945GZM-S2; such a nice little board! So I was setting up Snow Leopard from a retail disk on it. You just need a couple of extra kexts to run it (and a good dsdt table)!! Everything working: On-board graphics, audio (multichannel), sleep/wake, restart/shutdown, ethernet, speedstep. I know this is an old board but I bet some of you still have one of these around. Also if you find one of this mobos on sale you can build a 100% compatible hackintosh for very little money. I uploaded the files I used here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/zx0mw0zydyk/...InstallPack.zip Includes a modifyed dsdt table, the few kexts you need (only fakesmc and legacyHDA), chameleon (needed), some utilities, and a readme.txt to get the things done.
