I installed Acronis OS Selector to set up a dual-boot correctly, but it just made it worse. A file is corrupted (hal.dll), so it won't boot. I have now deactivated Acronis. I don't have the Dell install disc and I don't know how to access the recovery partition. I have a spare SP2 disc, but it won't recognize my hard drive as being installed... 2. The second issue for me is no Internet. My ethernet port is not even recognized. I have an Intel Pro VE 10/100 integrated ethernet port. 3. The third issue is no audio. I have integrated AC97 audio. 4. The fourth issue is the screen resolution. I have installed the MacVidia driver, though I probably screwed it up. How do you save the stuff you add using Terminal? I noticed somebody else post a similier problem, trying to boot into OS. Missing hal.dll. I know that no real info but at least you know somebody else did it. Or Acronis did it to somebody else. belgrano Posted May 30, 2006 Share Posted May 30, 2006 Regarding no1. Can you see your windoze partition from osx? Regarding no2. I think you should buy an Ethernet PCI card. Preferably one with Realtek RLT8139 chipset. It's relatively cheap and will solve your problem for good.
