  1. Alright, so I'm having a problem on 10.6.8. If I boot with a DSDT, the boot up stalls at "DSMOS has arrived". If I boot without the DSDT and with GraphicsEnabler=No, then I will actually boot up to the desktop, but I have no real video driver, so videos don't work and no acceleration. Then, if I boot with no DSDT and with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, it boots up as normal and then when it tries to boot to the desktop, I just get a black screen. Any ideas?
  2. To whoever, I had a question. There was a APGM kext posted a few pages back that claimed to improve battery life and whatnot. A few posts after that, there were a few 9400m_inject kexts or something too. Well, which one should I use, and do I just install it normally like I would any other kext?
  3. Gotcha. I think I need to start over fresh and deal with the DSDT issue first rather than later. You're right in that I didn't have any problems in 10.6.x. I actually jumped straight from 10.6.8 to 10.7.2, so I didn't even encounter the previous versions of 10.7. I feel I might be running into a problem with the kexts that I've added. What kexts should I add other than FakeSMC.kext? I've got the VoodooPS2Controller along with one for the internal SATA (can't remember off the top of my head). Oh, VoodooHDA too, but I get occasional kernel panics with it. What would you recommend?
  4. Hey all. I'm running 10.7.2 on my 1340 with a 9400G/9500M combo. I've so far gotten mostly everything but the battery working. I use VoodooHDA for audio, and I'm unsure, but the temperatures feel a bit lower after using the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement kext. Can't confirm battery life since it doesn't work. bcc9, you posted a DSDT for Lion, but I can't get that to work either. I just end up with the PCI configuration begin error if I have a DSDT in my Extra folder. Also, if i understood this correctly, am I supposed to use a Lion version of ACPIPlatform along with this DSDT? Where does ACPIBattery come into the mix? I know I'm slightly misnaming these kexts, sorry for that. Let me know guys. Much appreciated, wtcnbrwndo4u
  5. NTFS-3G, MacFUSE, or other?

I've been using Paragon NTFS-3G v8.0. No corruptions issues, nearly identical transfers speeds as NTFS drives in Windows 7, works great. Definitely would recommend it. MacFUSE is free, but it still seems a little vague to me on what it actually does.
  6. So, I'm not exactly sure what's gone wrong, but now I can't get the computer to go to sleep. If I shut the lid or manually choose to sleep, the screen shuts off immediately, but all the touch buttons and keyboard are still lit and the fan is still running. Nothing wakes the computer back, only way to fix it is to force shutdown the computer by holding the power button. Any ideas? I've attempted to reinstall the AppleACPIPlatform package, but the installation never succeeds.
  7. Good call. I shut it down completely and it works fine. I still don't know about the checksum error.
  8. Yeah, it's enabled. I've checked several times. On occasion, I get error 0251, which tells me the system CMOS checksum is bad/corrupted. This clears off the BIOS settings I had chosen, but regardless, I just made changed the setting, double-checked, booted into OSX, and tried Parallels to no avail.
  9. Sounds good. I'll pop in the BIOS update soon. I'm running A11 currently. EDIT: Wait, I can't run this update via DOS.... I have to install Windows 7 natively just so I can run it in a virtual machine. Oh, the irony.
  10. Is anyone able to install Windows 7 using Parallels? Or let alone anything? It says I need to enable hardware virtualization, but it's already enabled in the BIOS. Thanks.
  11. Wow, I had no idea how many people this fix helped. I'm glad I was able to be of assistance. Man I did this so long ago too...
  12. USB hot-plug stopped working

I'm having a similar problem. I tried typing in the first part, didn't work.So I proceeded to load the kext... didn't give me a response either... ideas?
  13. Hey guys, I'm back to the OS X x86 scene. Might get back into driver dev. Anyways, I reinstalled OS X on my Inspiron 5150 and it works fine... with the OS X 10.4.5 disc in. It won't boot up without the OS X disc in. I get a HFS+ Partition error. I tried reinstalling immediately, but that didn't work. For now, I'm running with the disc (PITA) and working on fixes for some of my stuff. Also, I'm trying to add a kext to load. I want it to load everytime the system starts, but I don't know how? How do I go about loading a text and making it permanent? Thanks guys, wtcnbrwndo4u
  14. Sigmatel 9200, etc. Issues Solved

Wow, I'm proud of you guys. You actually came around to solving the driver problem! Now we have fixes for 9200 (thanks to you guys) and 9220 (thanks to me, hehe).
