wasdavedead
I'm trying to install iAtkos 7 on this hardware, but was not able to. When I insert the disc and boot it, once Darwin loads, then the computer just restarts. I have tried using my SATA dvdrw in ACHI and non-ACHI mode. I changed all the settings around in BIOS but to no success. The mother would be the new i5 and i7 1156 socket. The mother and chip I'm using is down below. Weird thing is, when I use my old iAtkos 5 disc I can install everything"but of course 5 doesn't have my videocard drivers", so now All the other OSX loaders fail too, iATKOS 5 comes the furthest. I'm stuck please help a dude out. pechspilz
Me too! Because SL is a bit more tricky I'm trying with Leopard first. The problem is I don't see what happens when the computer reboots. I'm not sure if it leaves chameleon rc3 as it won't even show the apple logo. Maybe I should try with another bootloader but mind you, the 1156 socket isn't available on any Apple hardware so far so there might be more problems along the road. dark4181
It's because there aren't any actual Macs out yet that use the p55/1156 ...You'll have to wait until 1) Apple releases a Mac with a P55 chipset, or 2) someone writes p55/socket 1156 kexts for OSX So you're probably out of luck for a while Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185222-osx-on-new-1156-socket-motherboard/#findComment-1274605 Share on other sites
