vilpostus
OK so I have a dv6000 Hp Pavilion. It has Windows 7 and I'm trying to install iATKOS v7 on my hard drive as the only OS. I can get to the welcome screen but when i go to select a destination it only gives me the disk which isn't big enough any ways. I need to install it on my hard drive. Wat's my problem Guess you need to partition the hard drive first. Go to Disk Utility and create some HFS+ partition. Then there should be a disk to select. I suggest you reading some install guides first. It seams you haven't done this yet... Sorry if I'm wrong. eilyasjaan
what you need to do is get a copy of power suite and use that to create a partiton for the osx and then you want to format it as ntfs and when you go to disk utilities during installation you should see the partition and you want to format it to mac extended that is how did mine Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183107-iatkos-v7-on-hp-pavilion-dv6000/#findComment-1245250 Share on other sites

Find out which SATA controller you have (e.g. ICH5 or ICH10, JMicron and so on). When you know it. Find an appropriate IOATAFamily.kext or other SATA related kext, wich will work with your system. Consider this one http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88335 Also you may try an older distros (if your PC is older) such as:Kalyway 10.5.1, iDeneb and so on... I also suggest a different approach. Such as this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...=127330&hl= This particular method allows you to install from an original DVD. It let's you chose additional kext so you could include different SATA kext. Some will definitely works for you. vilpostus
How might i find what my SATA controller is?? See detailed tech. specs. of your PC, it must be written somewhere. Some more info... "...you may get different results cause you need a driver for your specific chipset in order to get sata internal drives working as they should" "...It's pretty simple anyway: *Get Leo4allv2 DVD *Boot with it in. (I didn't need to select verbose mode neither that pressing power button for a second, just let it boot all alone) *At installation, format your partition to Mac OS X Journaled with disk utility. *Select customize option. *From the list select only: --languages you need --Nforce test driver (for the motherboard & internal SATA drive support) --Azalia audio (optional, for me it didn`t work until I reinstalled it via kexthelper once I had a working install) --Forcedeth-v driver (for ethernet LAN... it didn't work for me but it was one of the thing selecteed) --AMD patch *Don't select any graphics driver or you may get a kernel panic. And that's it, after 30 minutes my installation was done, I rebooted, filled OSX setup assistant. I had no sound (fixed installing azalia audio kext) I had 1024x768 resolution (fixed to 1280x800 with the package I attached on my first post) I had Wifi recognized and working, it found and connected to my network. I had no battery icon on menu bar, but DON'T instal powermanagement.bundle or wifi, keyboard and touchpad will stop working. So thats a little guide to get my results. '' It's extracted from this topic: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=109241 Looks like you need the Nforce driver. sendblink23
Another thing you need around 20gb of Hard Drive space to be able to install OSX, I honest suggest having an 80gb partition or more. If you dont have over 20gb space it will not let you install it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183107-iatkos-v7-on-hp-pavilion-dv6000/#findComment-1248102 Share on other sites
H0r0k0
Alright. So im still a little confused. Iv never done this before so deal with me if i seem dumb. So one: Leo4allv2 i know you cant post torrent or watever links but is this a torrent or a real dvd? and will it install on my AMD computer. Its a HP Pavilion dv6000. And two: I want to have this as the only operating system but i can partition it for now and fix it later. So im using EASEUS Partition Maneger and idk wat to format the partition to. Do i format it to FAT or FAT32 or NTFS or Unformatted. Im probably gonna use Leo4allv2 like posted by Das_Human. so wat do i do Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183107-iatkos-v7-on-hp-pavilion-dv6000/#findComment-1248419 Share on other sites

As far as I see your specs. are much like the same. You may though provide some more info about your PC then only its name... That would be much easer for me to recommend anything. Could you list the fallowing data: CPU model (I guess AMD), RAM type and amount, VGA card model, size of the hard drive you're going to install to? About partitioning. If you're going to partition the drive before the OS X installation, partition it to FAT32. Actually it is good to do so. Any way, then installing OS X you'll have to partition or erase it to HFS+ journalled GUID partition table. If you prefer to use only one OS - OS X, than only one HFS+ journalled partition is needed. But if it's going to be a dual boot system e.g. Windows + OS X or Linux + OS X, then the second one partition is needed. The second one must be formatted to FAT32. Again you'll have to reformat it then installing the other OS. Note that Windows, if you'd like to install it, must be on the first partition of the disk. So the OS X than should be installed on the second partition. There is no need for another OS for the OS X to boot and function. So OS X may perfectly be the only OS installed. Also delete the directory System/Library Extensions. Then burn to disk and install. It may also only show 128gb in disk utility but it will have full functionality when fully installed i was told. This worked for my dv9610 to get it to install and i will let you know if it boots correctly as i am still in the process of seeing if it does. Credit for this kext goes to ObsidanX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183107-iatkos-v7-on-hp-pavilion-dv6000/#findComment-1315550 Share on other sites
