knobsi Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 ahoi togehter, after being only a reader for a while, i finally finished up my hardware dreams and got it realized ( see my sig) . after testing a lot of things i´m getting stucked on several things. hope you can help me..... --------- 1. i saw in several posts, that the vram of the gma 950 shows 256 mb total. on my macintel it´s only the value of 64 in total. what should be done to increase?! are there some settings in the bios, which would effect it? the bios is up to date already. 2. i ordered an add2 card to get mainly my 20" cinema display of apple work. but, when i conect the dvi connector to the mactel, i can oly get a res. of 1024x768 as on my crt. how i have to solve this? .... may you can help? greetz knobsi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/18233-several-hardware-issues-intel-related-ask-kindly-for-your-help/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, you can set the BIOS to give GMA 950 it's maxium of 224 MB. 2. i ordered an add2 card to get mainly my 20" cinema display of apple work. but, when i conect the dvi connector to the mactel, i can oly get a res. of 1024x768 as on my crt. how i have to solve this? This could be an issue with 10.4.6, but try setting your BIOS to increase the RAM avalible to the GMA. That might help. Just to clarify, you are not using your VGA output when this problem occurs, right? My question was whether you were trying to connect another monitor on the VGA output or not. I assume not. can you tell me, where i have to modify the bios? i´m still searchin..... no luck ! Just to confirm, you have flashed your BIOS to the lastest version, right? Try to find the GMA controls in BIOS, they should be here: Advanced->Video Configuration. It may be possible to use 10.4.6 with an older GMA950 driver. but now, in the system profiler there are some crashes, if the overview for firewire is choosin.. for example. how i can fix this generally? I do not now about this, but it might be related to your PCI cards. You could try to take them out and see if it fixes the problem.
